I have many lifelong Democratic Jewish friends here in Pennsylvania who do NOT support Netanyahu, his government, his supporters, OR the settlers, who are feeling the same way.👇👇👇
Darrell Issa Unemployment Project@Alejandro27Ale

@magi_jay PA has a Jewish population that is large enough to swing the state in a close election, and this Palestine hyperbole is leading to increasing bigotry against the Jewish community that is both morally wrong and politically dumb. I'm so fucking sick of it.

@RickPetree Perhaps the only value Trump has as prognosticator is to weigh likelihoods towards the opposite of what he says. Afterall, a claim of a known habitual liar lifts an eyebrow involuntarily in the direction opposite to the stated claim.

Zero confidence in anything Trump regime says or does about Iran. Zero. A massive strategic blunder and failure is already baked in, IMO. The only remaining question is how much, if any, ‘face’ can be saved as the U.S. strikes camp and awkwardly slinks away. Tail on this is long.
Joe Walsh@WalshFreedom

He has no fucking clue what he’s doing. From the moment he launched this war, he hasn’t had a fucking clue what he’s doing. And every single word out of his mouth about this war is a lie. He lies as he breathes, and he has no fucking clue what he’s doing. What a dangerous, shitty thing it is for the world to have a pathologically dishonest madman in the White House.

@NastyOldWomynII @HCandler @ancap24 @PriyaSatia Sometimes we still will pick up a book of folktales or mythology or a Brother's Grim compilation and read. She's 30 now, but that doesn't matter. It brings us back to that hammock-space of pure joy and togetherness.

@JasonArgonaut7 @HCandler @ancap24 @PriyaSatia Exactly! By the time my daughter was old enough to read to herself, I’d stand in line for hours at Borders to get the anxiously-awaited next volume of the Harry Potter series for her! I considered that to be my *reward* for succeeding in raising children who loved to read!

Instead of worrying that humanities degrees don’t prepare students for jobs in today’s world [product managers finance consultants startups], we should worry that we’ve created a world with such little value for literature, art, philosophy—anything that expresses the human soul

@NastyOldWomynII @HCandler @ancap24 @PriyaSatia My mom read them to me, I read them to my daughter, and fond memories. Math and science evoke the same wonder in me. Such things are Miracle-Gro for the imagination, connect us to our Edenic youth, and are the "back of the wardrobe" through which we discover marvelous places.

@JasonArgonaut7 @HCandler @ancap24 @PriyaSatia And you speak as a STEM major, too! You grasp what so many who think college is supposed to be a fancy voke ed school don’t: if you only learn professional skills, you won’t learn more than your teachers, but if you study the “soft” subjects, you’ll learn to think beyond them.

@ancap24 @PriyaSatia Albert Einstein disagreed. He advised parents to read their children fairy tales and yet more fairy tales because the humanities trigger the development of imagination and philosophical inquiry, which later powers imaginative problem solving. The same is true in college.

@NastyOldWomynII Maybe, but Tucker spent years glazing Trump while hating him, understanding how toxic that orange, broken-minded vulgarian is. Tucker is shrewd and manipulative. But when he babbles about "demons", he may be nuts too. Helps that his mental illness aligns with his base though..

@RickPetree Now THAT is what our representatives should be doing - holding these corrupt, incompetent fools accountable by skillfully and pointedly exposing their chicanery.

@JasonArgonaut7 @NastyOldWomynII BC is an IT hub in Canada. Why don’t you set up a small offshoot here so you have a foot in the door? Small office, three people - you wouldn’t be the first.

@chantler_jaki @NastyOldWomynII I have had serious discussions with my company about moving out of the US, and what the trigger points would be. For now, we're staying but since we are pure software, re-locating would be of minimal burden.

@NastyOldWomynII I'm sorry for the misunderstanding, CC. I hate us arguing. I am so disgusted by this horrendous war that yes, I did read what you wrote as "Iran could have done more to prevent" when we were on theology. You know I like and appreciate you very much.

@JasonArgonaut7 Jason, you replied, “You're suggesting that this is Iran's fault in some way.” I did NOT, and I’m ticked that you imputed such views to me, quite BASELESSLY, when my reply to you was simply to list things Iran could have done under the Just War Doctrine AS YOU ASKED.
