Well said. We’ve seen plenty of Yankees acquisitions get chewed up and spit out by New York. Rodon looked very much like another example in 2023. Never seen a Yankee dig themselves out of that hole the way Rodon has

I mean there doesn’t have to be two sides to every argument. You can argue that Volpe deserves a healthy shot at short and also Caballero should keep getting opportunities almost daily because he plays like 7 positions and has been getting on base a lot.

@GreenfieldMax18 @rankdog23 It’s not misguided at all. He doesn’t need to be better than what Cab will be, but rather what he is today. Cab is performing right now. Play the hot hand until it’s not hot. No one is disputing that he’s playing above his norm, but ride it out until he’s not.

Volpe doesn't need to be better than his career norms, he needs to be better than what cab will be, and cabs offensive data is not sustainable. Volpe, when healthy, was an elite SS in his own right too. Your basis of assessment is misguided
