Jason Perry - Mayor of Croydon

I am incredibly grateful to the people of Croydon for placing their trust in me once again. Four years ago, I was elected to help rescue a borough that had been broken by bankruptcy, instability and failure. Together, we have stabilised the Council, restored discipline and begun rebuilding pride in Croydon. There is still much more to do, but today’s result is a clear vote to keep Croydon moving forward. This borough is my home. I was born here, went to school here, built my business here and raised my family here. It remains the greatest privilege of my life to serve the people of Croydon as your Mayor.

I’ve appointed my new Cabinet team for the next Mayoral term: jasonperry.uk/Cabinet2026 Over the last four years we’ve stabilised Croydon’s finances, begun restoring pride in our borough and taken a zero tolerance approach to crime and anti-social behaviour. Now we keep moving forward. This is a team focused on delivery: safer streets, cleaner neighbourhoods, stronger communities, better housing and protecting frontline services. Lots done. It was good to meet with James Routledge and his team last year to hear about their plans for Selsdon Park Estate. Fantastic to join the Sanderstead Residents’ Association for their 100th AGM this evening. A huge milestone and a real testament to the power of local people coming together to stand up for their community. Residents’ associations play such an important role across Croydon - working with ward councillors to give local people a voice, protect the character of our neighbourhoods, and help shape the future of our borough. If you have a local residents’ association where you live, get involved and support it. These groups really do make a difference.
