@CurryHicksSage Players can either slum it in the minors or have fun playing a game and congratulated for being goofy. No shame from me if someone takes less money to barnstorm having a fun time and being adored by many.

What do you think the guys on the Savannah Bananas get paid? I feel like they’re probably criminally underpaid and all the money is going to that self promoting yellow suited impresario character.

@ryanhammer09 Wouldn’t it be extra 9 10 11 seeds? The bottom aq teams wouldn’t be affected.

Imagine this as the play in situation this year. Other than undeserving teams getting in, expanding the at large play ins make the seeding illogical . #13 ASU vs #13 Cal with an equal chance of getting into the field of 64 as #11 Texas & #11 NC State makes ZERO sense. With only 4 at large play in teams in the current set up, those 4 are essentially dead even on ranking/seeding. Now having 12 (!!!) of them play adds so much disparity between them. Another reason why this is dumb!

For those wondering what a new “First 12” might look like in a 76-team field:

Tulsa was called for a 5-second violation on an inbounds play with 8 seconds to go, up three on Auburn. The Golden Hurricane nearly popped the champagne bottle to celebrate its third NIT Championship. I replayed it 4 times & never got close to a full 5 seconds. 🤷🏼‍♂️

@TheGolaStandard I agree. Palestra would be a great environment. Most sessions won’t sell out and the ones that do will be a great atmosophere. I’m guessing the issue is limited or no Luxury Boxes.

Why do people want the A10 tournament in an NBA sized arena? It will never fill up. Book a smaller arena that guarantees a sell out on Sunday. Crazy, loud, jam-packed atmosphere should be the goal.

Interesting ABS situation here. 3-2, runner goes, ball 4 is called and he pulls up into 2B. Catcher challenges… and now you start to wonder what would happen if it’s overturned. Are the announcers right, would this become a double play? Or would the umpires send the runner back to first since the original call influenced the play?

@Bauertology But why the whole way out west? Is there any interviews that explains Villanova?

8 seeds are next. #29 Clemson can't go to its closest available site in Greenville because of Duke, so it's off to Tampa instead. #30 Villanova would go to Buffalo, but they played Michigan in the regular season. So we would then send the Wildcats to Greenville... except that would mean that all three Big East teams that made the tournament are in the same region. There's no explicit rule about avoiding this in the selection committee's principles; I'm guessing that they just didn't like the idea of it, so they opted to send Villanova out to San Diego instead to avoid that. #31 Ohio State can't go to Buffalo because of Michigan, so they go to Greenville. #32 Georgia rounds us out by landing in Buffalo.

Folks, it's that time. Welcome to How They Built the Bracket! Every year, once the dust has settled from the reveal of the selection committee's 68-team field, I dig into the bracketing process, following the committee's guidelines and principles step-by-step to reverse-engineer the exact same bracket, revealing how it was all constructed. Over the next few hours, I will be demonstrating the bracket-building process seed line by seed line. In case you aren't aware of the principles in place that the committee abides by, make sure to go check out the document located on the Bauertology website Resources page: bauertology.com/bracketing-pri… Before we dive in, here's the selection committee's overall seed list from 1 to 68, which will serve as the foundation for the order that teams are placed into the bracket.

@SethDavisHoops @Brad_Wachtel That’s his opinion, not reality. Non P4 should be wanting expansion, because those spots that P4 gets but does not deserve dry up, or everyone in P4 gets in so there’s more proof that the system is rigged even after expansion.

Btw in @Brad_Wachtel Bracketology his first 8 teams out includes 3 mid-majors. I think it's reflective of what would happen on a regular basis if the tournament expanded and explains why all the mid-major commissioners want it to go to 76. Just sayin!

While this is true, Michigan — or anyone — can still change its preferred locale for another couple of weeks. For now, Michigan’s preference is Philadelphia if it’s the overall No. 1 seed. If they’re not the overall No. 1 seed, they’re likely Buffalo-bound.
Matt Norlander@MattNorlander

A small bit of news: Michigan has told the NCAA that if it is the No. 1 overall seed, the Wolverines have called dibs on going to Philadelphia—>Chicago for the first two weekends. Buffalo is technically closer, but U-M wants Philly if it's No. 1 overall.
