. @TulsiGabbard and Abe are not just friends to Ben and me, they are family. They are the godparents to our eldest daughter Liberty.
I first met them nearly a decade ago during one of the darkest periods of my life, and after just one lunch together, I immediately fell in love with both of them. At a time when I felt lost, I knew I had found a sister in Tulsi. She and Abe have brought so much light into my life through their love of country, devotion to family, deep faith in God, humor, selflessness, and the kind of joy that feels like finding a rainbow after a long storm.
Over the years, we have been through many highs and lows together, and I could not be more proud of the people they are or the sacrifices they have both made in service to this country.
Right now, our hearts are with Abe as he faces the road ahead in his cancer battle. He is one of the strongest, kindest, and most resilient people I know, and I have complete faith in his strength and spirit.
Ben and I are also incredibly proud of the important work Tulsi has done as Director of National Intelligence. Public service always comes with sacrifice, and she has led with courage, conviction, and integrity during a consequential time for our country.
We love them deeply and will be standing beside them every step of the way through whatever comes next.

Which internship are you speaking of?
I had 2 internships in college. One at Newsweek Magazine and the other at Saturday Night Live. Both lasted a little over a year and a half in the normal assigned time. My boss at Newsweek was Jon Meacham who I’ve kept a relationship with and later had me to speak with him at Vanderbilt University as well as has had me as a guest on his podcast well after my internship.
Lorne Michaels was a wonderful boss and remained supportive of me and my family for decades after.
I was also tracked heavily by Gawker during those internships given my nepo baby status and had I been fired - I assure you it would have hit the internet.
If you’re going to lie, lie about me well please. I’m many things but a bad intern was not one of them.
I am also 41 years old, we could turn the page, no?

Someone I know very well “hired” Meghan McCain as an intern (she was forced to do so because of Meghan’s family). Meghan’s only job was to serve coffee and grab food. She showed up late or not at all. This person had hired hundreds of such interns. Meghan was the only one she had to fire. Meghan not only failed to show up on time, she had a terrible attitude when she did. Couldn’t even fire her directly, had to contact Meghan’s “people” to let her know she should no longer show up to her *unpaid internship. Don’t listen to Meghan McCain.
