@Uncommon5ense@AB84 Well quit trying to shove it down everyone’s throat. People of religion are just as bad with shoving things down peoples throats as the LBTQRZ or whatever the fuck the acronym of the week is group. Two groups, with a subculture of playing pretend and full of mental illness.
One interesting thing to note on PPA Asia is that the success of the Asian players is limited to men’s singles. No Asian players in the quarters of any other event. One Aussie team made women’s dubs quarters. Otherwise, complete domination by USA-based players. Men’s singles is just a different game, with players able to have great success without corresponding success in doubles. So good job by the Asian men in doubles, but overall the Asian players need more time before they catch up to the rest of the world.
Parris Todd is receiving a 2 event (1 MLP and 1 PPA) suspension and a $50k fine for participating in unsanctioned clinics over in Japan. We know that Parris did request permission and was a late add as an attendee. Thoughts? Too harsh? Not harsh enough?
JW/CJ destroying Alshon/Daescu for the second tournament in a row. I had picked Alshon/Daescu as I didn’t think they could play that badly twice in a row in the semis. Looks like I was wrong. Alshon in particular is not playing like a top 8 player. Fortunately, I did correctly predict pre-tournament the only non top 3 seed who would make a doubles final (the Kawamotos).
Dave and Carlos (?) talk about Hunter like he just started playing pro. They give him no credit. Dude is the #2 singles player in the world, is a SOLID dubs player, and has been part of one of the best MLP mixed duos (w/ Jade) all season.
@ZaneNavratil@Pickleball Major lack of videos on stroke dynamics (swing path) for hitting different shots. How far to take the paddle back, hitting in a C-shape stroke, follow through, etc.
I'd have to imagine this is never enforced, which means that the policy itself has done it's job of deterring headhunting. Now we need to deter cheating.
The @PPAtour implements a targeting rule, which I think is a good thing. With almost everything being recorded now, my suggestion is that refs can issue on-court penalties, but the commissioner's team be in charge of fines/suspensions instead of the refs. Thoughts?
@Pickleball
It is a BEAUTIFUL day in Tucson, for day one of the Proton Tucson Open. If you can be here, great sight lines on the pro courts. Can’t beat sitting 10 feet away to watch the pros play.
@PPAtour@connorpardoe_pb Why is @geniebouchard being allowed to wear clothing that perfectly matches the color of the Vulcan ball in her singles match in Tucson. What a bullshit cheater move.
@Tim_Walz You would have been a terrible Vice President……although slightly better than the useless running mate of yours. Elon, Vance, and Trump have done more for our country in two weeks than the entirety of Democratic Party in the last 4 years.
@federicostak I would argue as a fan that I enjoyed the extended rallies from this past weekend. However I think that even for us amateurs the Franklin is too soft in hot temperatures, and possibly we need to see different balls being used at different temperature intervals?
@TysonMcGuffin Awesome games, loved watching this Aussie tournament. You truly are a showman, and gave us a few fun laughs :) love to know how much you enjoyed going back to the X-40
