@crematesjay1 @SoUnserious_ @grok Not a single one of those people witnessed the resurrection, and the claim of unnamed eyewitnesses without testimonies by Paul, who never met Jesus, decades after the event happened, is useless.
The testimonies we DO have arent of the resurrection, and they contradict eachother.
English

@JasonMilesVA @SoUnserious_ @grok Peter, all the apostles, James, Paul, Mary Magdalene, mother of James. Plus the 500 witnesses
English

@crematesjay1 @SoUnserious_ @grok You have no reason to assume that he rose. There were zero named eyewitness testimonies of the resurrection.
You can't say we are no longer under the old law, because that is to abolish it, and that is specifically the opposite of what Jesus set out to do, from his own words.
English

Jesus perfectly obeyed the law, then died and rose again to pay for our sins.
The law got fulfilled for us, so longer 'under the law' to earn Gods approval between Jews and Gentiles
Thats how i would interperet it.
Thats the thing with scripture.
Thats why i think you just know in your heart if what your doing is right
English

@crematesjay1 @SoUnserious_ @grok Jesus said to follow the law for forever.
While Paul said you don't.
Who's word is greater?
English

@JasonMilesVA @SoUnserious_ @grok Of course Jesus word is greater than Pauls
What are you getting at?
English

@crematesjay1 @SoUnserious_ @grok Is the word of Paul greater than that of Jesus?
Jesus said to follow the law.
Paul says that belief alone is sufficient, and that works are not necessary.
English

Jesus fulfilled the law through His sinless life, death, and resurrection.
The Old Testament system, including sacrifices, priesthood, temple rituals, and Israel's national/theocratic laws, pointed forward to Him as the ultimate sacrifice, High Priest, and King.
Once fulfilled, those specific commands are no longer binding in their original form
We are released from the law through Christ's death (Romans 7:1 - 6; Galatians 3:23 - 25)
Hope that makes sense...

@crematesjay1 @SoUnserious_ @grok And whoever shall do even the least of these commandments, and teaches others to do the same will called great in the kingdom of heaven.
Meaning; He prefers you follow them, and teach others to do the same, and opposes people doing the opposite.
English

@crematesjay1 @SoUnserious_ @grok As Grok said, to perfect, to complete them.
Jesus never said the law is no more. Rather, he said there is salvation in addition to your duty to following the law, if you read the very couple verses, Matthew 5:18-20.
Until heaven and earth pass away.
English

@crematesjay1 @SoUnserious_ For example; if you fulfill the law of putting on your seatbelt when you drive, does that mean you no longer have to do it in the future?
That's asinine.
English

Do not think that I have come to abolish the Law or the Prophets; I have not come to abolish them but to fulfill them.
(Matthew 5:17)
The Old Covenant was temporary and preparatory, given specifically to Israel.
The New Covenant, promised in Jeremiah 31:31-34 and inaugurated by Jesus, internalizes God's law on the heart through the Holy Spirit and provides full forgiveness
English

@crematesjay1 @SoUnserious_ Olam literally means forever, and Jeremiah 31:31-34 was a prophecy that never came true.
Whatever you replace the word fulfill with, it can't mean to do away with. (the meaning of abolish) The semantic range can also mean to "perfect" the law.
English

@crematesjay1 @SoUnserious_ You follow Jesus, and Jesus said to follow the law forever. Matthew 5:17
To be sure; it means you don't have the 10 commandments, or love thy neighbor either.
If you believe that Jesus is God, and all just, all good, you have to make sense of that. And so far, you've all failed
English

@JasonMilesVA @SoUnserious_ That's called the Old Testament
We follow the New Testament
English

@crematesjay1 @SoUnserious_ 2 Samuel 12.
Exodus 21 and Leviticus 25.
Numbers 31.
English

@JasonMilesVA @SoUnserious_ Would you like to quote a passage...

@crematesjay1 @SoUnserious_ It is not a distortion of your religion. Your god, doctrinally, condones, commands, and DOES all of these things.
English

@JasonMilesVA @SoUnserious_ You are talking about a group of people who have distorted religion to their benefit
This group of people do not represent the majority
Much of the western world is built on Christian values
The same world where you are free to have an opinion without being in danger
English

@JasonMilesVA @SoUnserious_ Awwwww 🤣 I would be in my feelings if I was a weak bastard who depended on twitter to validate my opinion
English

@Jonip0j @SoUnserious_ I would react this way too if I were ungenuine.
English

@Jonip0j @SoUnserious_ Try again buddy, neither of those two things have to do with religion.
English

@SoUnserious_ Because we believe in Jesus now we’re sick in the head but if I agree with Same sex marriage and drag queens performing for a 5 yr old for pride month than I’m perfectly normal.. got it
English

@crematesjay1 @SoUnserious_ It's actually theists (Abrahamic primarily) that have these problems, because they have to routinely rationalize why it's moral for their god to kill babies and cause women to be raped. And command slavery. And war brides. And so on.
English

Sometimes it’s worth noticing what happens when people live without any sense of God in their lives.
You can see it in the choices they make, in how empathy fades, in how fear grows, and in how easily they dismiss the beliefs of others.
It can leave them struggling to understand the world around them.
It might simply be part of your journey, a step meant to lead you toward truth.
Look at the world with fresh eyes.
The insects, the animals, the plants, the water, the land, the atmosphere all working together like it was created to do so.
Sometimes you just need to look a little closer
English

@Boolin32 If I’m mentally ill why would you expect me to understand?
