Today, we celebrate the extraordinary talent of Bill Watterson on his 65th birthday! The legacy of Calvin & Hobbes lives on, reminding us to embrace our inner child, explore our imaginations and find beauty in the simplest moments. Here’s to the magic you’ve shared with the world!
In the remaining days of school, you may see some out of character behaviors from some students. Remember that not all students look forward to summer break. For some students, school is their safe place… where they receive consistent food, where they feel most successful, where they are surrounded by kindness and love, and where they can just be themselves. All behaviors are communication. Respond first with empathy and compassion. Thank you for everything you do for our kids! Have an amazing and well-deserved summer break!
I will be traveling the country providing “Maslow Before Bloom” trainings this Summer and Fall. I would love to come to your school or district. Please message or email me for more info bryan@MostValuablePD.com.

Thank you @KidsAbility for hosting our leadership group meeting. Your tremendous support of our students is truly appreciated and inspiring. @JasonStere@wrdsb
Something I learned from a mentor teacher many years ago was to view the curriculum as something we explore and discover rather than something we cover.
There’s a big difference.
A2 Let's think about Ss on a continuum of learning and not rank them against each other. Defining them as high or low flyers places them in comparison of their peers. Addressing where they are on a continuum means we start with an asset based lens instead of deficit #elemmathchat
We are so used to language as our primary mode of communication that we listen only to a child’s words and not to their tone of voice. If we tune out what they're saying and listen to how they say it, we hear the sounds of a someone who is lashing out because they're in distress.
