Pioneer and absolute titan of special education, my friend Jim Kauffman, died this morning. Jim was faculty emeritus @UVA, and spent his career promoting and defending specialized education. I’m saddened by his passing but grateful for our friendship. Good night, my friend.

At least 44 students experienced 20 or more restraints & seclusions during the period covered by the investigation & one student was restrained or secluded at least 144 times, including 99 seclusions lasting over 15 hours in total.

@ayman_eckford @GaryNunn1 Hi Ayman. As you say AAC is great. Gary was asking about Facilitated Communication, which is not AAC . One of the criticisms of Facilitated Communication is that it may hinder or delay access to AAC
