There's no way people are responding with "hot women exist in the real world" to the criticism about female characters designs in gameoverse are we serious
@TheSchizzller -average looking body would not fit well. I do agree they could give the other female characters more diverse body types though. Currently they're all built the same but I believe it'll change with time.
@Jaspurg_ I don't believe that Kit can't be cool or attractive atleast, but it's just the common stereotypes and caricatures that are still very prevalent in...well, today's world.
@TheSchizzller I get ur point, a female character having big breasts and thighs looks like simple sexualising, but if she wasn't somewhat curvy, she would look extremely unfitting in their abstract and creative game worlds. Most characters are very creative design-wise, and a very-
@TheSchizzller A lot of the time, men want to be with a girl or adore her, while a lot of girls want to be a girl or be like her. It's again a little biological, it's a response of wanting something you adore or like. An ugly main character rarely resonates with either genders
@TheSchizzller Of course but it's not unrealistic for women to be good looking. It's a real thing, and her being curvy obviously makes her appealing to pretty much everyone, but if her design instead was very thin and ugly, people wouldn't resonate as much with her anymore.
@TheSchizzller@JustAnimaniac However, in some instances, authors might make a female character very uninteresting and good looking for the sole purpose of being a love interest or a hot woman for a male character, I do not support that instance. I believe women can be inlove but also their own character.
@Jaspurg_@JustAnimaniac Well see, while you say that, there have been instances where women are put on the top and are basically powerful. (Cue the Hyenas, Spiders, Lioness, etc.)
Misogyny and the power dynamic of women being weak is rare in the animal kingdom, but prevalent within us humans.
@TheSchizzller@JustAnimaniac Another misconception I see a lot is that people think female characters who are inlove with a male character are ruined because of that. I heavily disagree, a girl being in love does not make her dependant on him or make it her entire personality.
@TheSchizzller@JustAnimaniac But this also suggests that men should try and impress women to actually get to reproduce, proving that women somewhat are rewards/trophies from hard work.
I think Kit can be good looking, as well as a strong and independent woman.
@TheSchizzller@JustAnimaniac Therefor, evolutionary, female humans are attracted to the strongest, fastest, most powerful man. That's how evolution works, the best fitted and most impressive in a group will get to reproduce, and will continue evolving a species.
@TheSchizzller@JustAnimaniac Yes you're correct, those are exceptions but it doesn't change that most animals still have stronger men. If you look at human biology, you'd see that men are more dense, on average taller, more muscle density, thicker skin etc. More built for fighting, hunting etc.
@TheSchizzller@JustAnimaniac Women are usually called that for wearing stuff, not for being curvy by itself. A lot of the "thirst" for women sexually also derive from societal norms where women should just live while men should be chasing and seeing them as some kind of trophy or reward
@Jaspurg_@JustAnimaniac Actually, those women are very much called those things majority of the time for just looking that way.
Infact, just wearing specific clothing warrants that reaction even more + catcalling is very prevalent when these happen.
@TheSchizzller Of course, but even then, there are also weak men. Most of these stereotypes derive from actual biology and evolution, as well as norms.
You believe Kit can't be hot and cool at the same time, I disagree there. You want an ugly girl to show that women are more than the norms
@Jaspurg_ But not all women are weak or "promiscuous", if anything, they're more than that, they are people and they have their own independence.
That's why feminism is a impactful thing as to show that women aren't the stereotype you presented, but they're much more than that.
@TheSchizzller@JustAnimaniac It's biology, yes it's stereotype but it's also how most animals survive in the animal kingdom. Usually men hunt and are bigger, while the women are caretakers and birthgivers. Of course human women are seen as a lot more equal to the human men than it usually is with animals.
@Jaspurg_@JustAnimaniac Well see, that's where the issue comes in.
That thing you just said is a common stereotype that has always been shown and somehow accepted for.
@TheSchizzller@JustAnimaniac There's 1 girl with big boobs, and like 6 girls with extremely small boobs and "female proportions", I like to see it more as diversity and realistic that different women would have different proportions, but if you want to assume any good looking woman is fanservice then sure
@Jaspurg_@JustAnimaniac Is there not a character in that same anime made to feed the male gaze judging by her obviously shown boobs coupled with an excuse as to how she even has that aspect of hers?
@Jaspurg_@JustAnimaniac A pilot is usually an introduction to the story and character. It's not an exploration, it's an INTRODUCTION. Which Gameoverse already failed. Get that through your head cuh
@chad_kris69@PrideRing666 Your life has to suck dude you're actually just sitting behind a screen fuming over a show that's optional to watch. It's never that deep, just don't watch it and go do something fun. Geez.
@TheSchizzller@JustAnimaniac very rarely are women called those things for being curvy or sexually attractive built. Again, I agree that it's exaggerated but it's also norms that we've inherited from bad times and norms that will hopefully fade with time.
@Jaspurg_@JustAnimaniac tl;dr: Men are not shamed for being shirtless and are called powerful, but women are shamed for and are insulted (being called whores, sluts, foids, etc.) just for doing certain things.
@TheSchizzller@JustAnimaniac That depends on a lot of stuff, but in general that's inherited from very bad social norms from a long time ago. In my opinion, women should be able to and it shouldn't be so sexualized, however I don't really see how it's relevant to a fictional girl being attractive.
@Jaspurg_@JustAnimaniac I mean, majority of women are even shamed for feeding their children in public through breast feeding since it comes off as "promiscuous" and gross.
@TheSchizzller@JustAnimaniac Powerful strong men are attractive to women, it's evolutionary and it's almost always that case. If weak attractive women are male gaze then strong attractive men are female gaze. I get it, women are more curvy and more sexualized, however I do not think it ruins anything here
@Jaspurg_@JustAnimaniac I mean, did you forget the reason most men are always seen shirtless is because it's characterized that men are "powerful, strong, etc." but women have always been portrayed as "weak, should only serve men" + Women have always been shamed when it came to showing literal skin.
