Yes, I saw the image. He does himself no favors at times trying to joke but I still do not believe the original gesture was made maliciously. I think people who have a need to find something to complain about will look for anything to clutch their proverbial pearls at.

Wow. The full video of the exchange between @VP @kamalaharris, Nebraska @SenatorFischer and her asshole husband, Bruce, is even worse. This bastard - a professor at @UNLincoln - was so scared to stand next to her that VP Harris literally said, "It's ok. I won't bite. Don't worry." His contempt for her is very clear.
