@Noahpinion Lower quality of potential viewers means lower movie quality. Consumers demand fast movies, where detail, strong plot, deep characters etc. are replaced by a lot of crap happening very fast so they feel entertained. People are now used to 20sec videos, not 2h movies.

It's weird. The cost of movies has gone down so much -- cheap digital cameras, digital effects, automated post-processing tools. And yet there's been no explosion of quality movies being made. If anything, there are fewer today than before. Why??

@Saul_Sadka Don't polarise @Saul_Sadka . Supporting the existence of the state of Israel, as most of us do, is perfectly compatible with pointing out that its current government is committing war crimes in Gaza. It's even healthy for your democracy to point it out/investigate those crimes.

Look at the long-winded rants people feel compelled to embark on to justify—perhaps even to themselves—why their obsessive focus on Jewish self-determination (or call it nationalism, if you prefer) isn’t racist. They need to demonstrate that it's not Jews they secretly believe are the worst, but that somehow Jewish nationalism is uniquely offensive. That, for some special reason, Zionism is the most objectionable of all self-determination movements. Imagine looking back at the 20th century—when nationalism shook the globe and led to the deaths of hundreds of millions—and somehow deciding that Zionism, of all things, deserves your singular obsession, while claiming not to be prejudiced against Jews. This is also why anti-Zionists are so fixated on portraying everything about Israel as “the worst,” even while far bloodier conflicts rage on, and the current war doesn't even rank among the top 100 of the last century. Only by painting Israel as uniquely evil can they justify their obsession to themselves.

Seeing as antisemitism is prejudice against Jews, and Zionism is the belief in Jewish self-determination, anti-Zionism is antisemitism unless one opposes self-determination for all nations and creeds equally, and with equal focus and fervor. If one shows particular disdain for Jewish self-determination alone, or does so with unequal focus or exceptional vigor, then prejudice against Jews must be the rebuttable presumption, though it's not clear how it might be rebutted.
