@joybhattacharj Almost a month late to the party here, but the 3 year anniversary of India 2017 Opening Match seemed the right time to get back on TW. Now I see the reason for the sudden followers surge, Joyda. You are too kind

6 years ago, @javierceppi came from Chile for the 2017 FIFA U17 World Cup. He wasn't just the hardest working person I'd seen, when I'd laugh that someone was trying to bribe us, he'd take his number just to shout at him again. Happy birthday Javier, good times. You were amazing

@joybhattacharj We were not too far when we said that it was going to be the best football India had ever seen live. What a Tournament it was!

I tore my ACL in November 2017 and while it’s been difficult running since, I have set a target of running a half marathon in under 2 hours by end of 2020. This was yesterday, with 16 kilos tied with my legs - not quite there yet but surely closer than I was, 6 months ago

Can't believe it's been 2 years already and we have managed to keep alive the LOC whatsapp group where this photo was shared. Good things live on forever

25th October, 2017. In less than two days, we moved a FIFA U17 World Cup semi-final between Brazil & England from Guwahati to Kolkata because of the weather and got in a capacity crowd of 63,318. Great memories @JavierCeppi, @aniketmishra299 , @ankusharora & the FIFA U17 gang.

A very happy birthday to a man who made India his own and did a magnificent job for Indian football as Tournament Director for the FIFA U17 World Cup. @JavierCeppi, you will never be forgotten in India! And I know you'll never forget any one of the 26 training grounds you made!

@footytraveller_ Never got to see it first hand, but was told many stories of this festivity. For me, it is a perfect sign of the love Bengalis have for football, which is the true love there

Kolkata’s love for football beats logic at times. Religion, superstition and tradition -an integral part of Bengali Culture, finds a place in the beautiful game in the most bizarre of ways. This is the story of ‘The Goalpost God’. Enjoy the watch! Link⬇️ youtu.be/M-DH2ihnAbo

Hosting the Women's U-17 WC in 2020 is a huge opportunity for India. It will show the dreams of 17 year old girls to the whole country and India must rally behind them. This will be a massive statement to advance the rights and stature of girls, let's make it right!

@joybhattacharj Hahahahahaha, that was absolutely brilliant. "Never a stadium has been not ready so close to a Tournament" is one of the gems of it. Funniest bit is that I saw Suman that same day at JLN and it did not cross his mind to ask me anything about it, pure Masala journalism

When ever a Republic television 'scoop' is discussed, I am always reminded of the time when while trying to prove the lack of preparedness for the FIFA U-17 World Cup in Delhi, they called the steeplechase water jump in the Nehru stadium 'gaping holes in track.'
