@historyinmemes So it's OK for the sioux to overrun places and take over (and all the bad things they did to other tribes like the Crow etc)..but its not ok when they're given a taste if their own medicine? Nah..sore lovers. Should be grateful still exist.

In 1980, the Supreme Court awarded the Sioux nations $122 million for the Black Hills, but the tribes rejected the payment, arguing that accepting it would end their legal claim to the land. As a result, the money remained in a federal account, where accumulated interest has grown the award to more than $1 billion. The 1868 Fort Laramie Treaty guaranteed the Black Hills to the Sioux, but that agreement was challenged after Lt. Col. George Armstrong Custer’s 1874 expedition revealed the presence of gold in the region. Thousands of prospectors flooded into the area despite the treaty’s protections. When the Sioux refused to sell the land, Congress passed a law in 1877 that seized the Black Hills without their consent. In 1980, the U.S. Supreme Court ruled that the government had illegally taken the land and awarded the Sioux financial compensation. The tribes have continued to reject the payment, arguing that accepting it would surrender their claim to the sacred Black Hills. The settlement has remained untouched for decades, growing with interest to more than $1 billion.

By the summer of 326 BC, Alexander the Great had crossed deserts and mountains, defeated every army placed in front of him, and reached the banks of the Hyphasis River in India. Ahead lay the Nanda Empire of Magadha, reportedly fielding an army five times the size of his own. His soldiers, worn down by years of marching and rain, had simply had enough. They refused to go one step further, and no Nanda soldier ever needed to raise a weapon. Alexander sulked in his tent for three days before finally agreeing to turn back toward home. The only power that ever stopped his conquest was not an enemy army but his own exhausted men. Alexander turned his army back toward Babylon, ending any further eastward expansion of his empire. He would die less than three years later in Babylon, never returning to Macedon. The Nanda Empire he never fought soon fell anyway, overthrown from within by Chandragupta Maurya, who built the Mauryan Empire in its place. The river that stopped Alexander marked the edge of one empire and, indirectly, cleared the way for another to rise. #drthehistories

These are the North African Muslims who tortured and beat 17-year-old Louis to death in France. Should they go to prison for the rest of their lives?

We have taken a firm decision to pursue participation in the UK MoD’s Project Grayburn. For some time, this opportunity occupied our mindspace. No longer. Why make it official? Because we have successfully delivered to our Indian customers — and actions speak louder than words. Because we stand fully confident in the progressive design, manufacturing quality, and battlefield reliability of our weapon systems. Because commitment transforms “we might” into “we will.” From India to the world.
