@gvquz @JessicaDBrand for stuff like this i use baseball reference it's very easy. they don't include 1880s chicago white stocking games when looking up cubs history stats. data availability issues plus the game was so different from what we know as baseball. some truly crazy rules pre 1890

@JessicaDBrand well, interesting. but 1880s predates what i include in a stat like this. when the league was like 6 random teams. the top pitcher on that detroit wolverines team u reference was a german named pretzels & their best hitter was a bald 40 year old

@JayCuda I love ya, Jay. But no. Look a bit further for wins and you’ll also find two more Cubs wins allowing 17+ before 1922. There’s 5/23/1889 against the Giants, 18-17. Before that, 7/28/1888 against Detroit, 21-17.
