All of this has been caused by the Labor Government & Labor voters. Don’t forget to ‘thank’ the Labor voters you know. Rumours are that rent is set to increase in the next fortnight also. How much more are you willing to take?.

@KobieThatcher Perfect answer. Look at Singapore; the have been very successful with immigration because they had quality control. Australia used to have that. Now it’s just open borders and hope for the best. Look at Europe and consider what has happened to the UK and Germany.

@GreenTyler27 At some point they have to make a decision between crashing house prices and runaway inflation. Crashing housing will hurt short to medium term but it can come back. Zimbabwe like inflation will destroy the economy long term. Too bad our politicians are only thinking short term.

The AU10Y didn’t stay under 5% for long. Expect increasing credit pressure. Australia isn’t getting richer. We’re just getting more expensive to finance. And the 30Y is even worse.

John Ruddick MLC - Libertarian
The Liberal Party across Australia is in a diabolical conundrum. They’re pulled left by the Teals and right by One Nation. When they lost a few leafy suburbs seats to Teals in 2022 they panicked and swung left to win them back. They did win one back … but in the process risked losing their base. That risk has now materialised re SA election … close to the ten year anniversary of Malcolm Turnbull’s pollster declaring, ‘oh sure we can move to the centre … who cares if the right gets cranky with that … they’ll preference us over Labor … ha ha!’ (Hat-tip @RealMarkLatham for reminding me of this at our #SAvotes viewing party). They’re entirely focused on votes. They’ll put on any posture if it gets votes - any votes will do! They should be preoccupied with great policy (the votes will then come). Total Liberal Death is now a 50-50 prospect. Best hope for revival is for the Liberal Party to embrace today’s Westminster norm and let the ordinary party members elect the parliamentary leader. The membership will elect a leader who is electable + a true believer in small government. Even if they only win half of elections, a true believer leader will shift the whole political debate to the right. There’s a book on this subject - PDF in here 👇 search.app/ZDsWLoKHzAdYTQ…

@letterbub Marty Supreme. Quit about an hour into it. It was just annoying. OBAA and Sinners were both incredibly overrated. OBAA had uninteresting and unlikeable characters (except Sean Penn). Sinners was just meh. Would have gone straight to cable 15 years ago.

@PeteWargent @RaskAustralia @OwenRask Will be an interesting time when no one wants to buy depreciating properties and rents are skyrocketing. Which one will break first? I predict a rapid decline in house prices rather than a steep increase in rents.

2026 might be of the biggest year at the box office since Covid hit. Things like Doomsday, Spider-Man, Mario, and Toy Story are almost guaranteed $1 billion. Moana and Minions could get there too Then you got this movie doing incredible. Odyssey and Dune 3.

@RositaDaz48 It’s self harm. There is no logical reason for anyone to vote labour in Australia. Zero. Unfortunately the same goes for the liberal party and maybe that’s why labour gets votes: the so-called opposition is even less electable.

BREAKING: The Trump Administration has begun "initial discussions" on what a potential peace deal with Iran might look like, per Axios. US officials are planning the below terms: 1. No missile program for five years 2. Zero uranium enrichment 3. Decommissioning of the reactors at the Natanz, Isfahan, and Fordow nuclear facilities 4. Strict outside observation protocols around the creation and use of centrifuges and related machinery that could advance a nuclear weapons program 5. Arms control treaties with regional countries that include a missile cap no higher than 1,000 6. End of financing for Iranian proxy groups US officials said the expectation is there will still be 2-3 additional weeks of fighting and Trump's envoys Jared Kushner and Steve Witkoff are involved in the discussions. Step #9 of our "Conflict Playbook" is near.

@Rus_Khairullin I’ve lived there. There is one thing they don’t tell you about crime; there are so many scammers. People tried to scam me when I rented an apartment, bought a car, rented a car. Never been to a place with so many thieves. And call centers with scammers.

Let me be honest about Dubai. No income tax. Zero. You keep everything you earn. Safest country on earth - Numbeo 2025. Crime index 16. London is 45. Paris is 50. Sun 365 days a year. The city never sleeps. Infrastructure that makes European capitals look like they’re still in 2005. You can build a company in a free zone with 100% foreign ownership and zero corporate tax on most structures. World-class hospitals. Best malls. Restaurants from every corner of the planet. You want a Michelin-starred dinner at midnight - done. Every major crypto exchange, fund, and Web3 company is setting up here. The ecosystem is real. And the people? 200 nationalities living in the same city. Nobody cares where you’re from. Only what you’re building. People ask me why I came back here after the recent situation. The question should be - why would I leave? There is no better city on earth right now for someone who wants to build, earn, and actually live well. That’s not marketing. That’s just the reality of living here. 🇦🇪

Attacks on fuel tankers and energy infrastructure in the Middle East are leading directly to higher fuel prices for Kiwis. That’s why we have joined the United Kingdom and other countries in condemning Iran’s attacks in the Gulf. Iran has forced the effective closure of the Strait of Hormuz to ships carrying fuel and other critical goods to places like New Zealand. New Zealand has a longstanding record of working with like-minded partners to ensure open supply lines for global trade. Obviously, any future decision for New Zealand to support multilateral efforts to ensure safe passage through the Strait of Hormuz would need to be considered by Cabinet.

@Jon1910Miller @EagleOnEagleSt We always needed a black swan event for a correction. High rates or rising unemployment alone wouldn’t do it. But both, in combination with extreme unaffordability and an energy crisis just might. What we are experiencing now is unprecedented. Sydney is already falling.

@EagleOnEagleSt Not likely, look at what happened during Covid. Market slightly dropped due to the uncertainty and then rocketed because of lack of supply. We need more homes in Australia to support growth, but building will be ridiculously expensive and unviable, this means demand jumps.

The Oz property bubble is likely going to pop now… - Interest rates rising - Bond yeilds rocketing - Unemployment rising - Ai taking jobs - Fuel running low - Stagflation It all comes down to confidence, and when confidence collapses, don’t look down! 2026-2028/29.
