Given all the Padres’, um, issues, as well as San Diego’s strong interest in World Cup, somewhat surprising to see them on this list (though it’s not specific about how large the gains have been). We’ll see how it holds up over the last couple months (especially if they don’t).

@JayPosnerSD HOW many swings did they miss, two or three, at least? (Still, finally, it seems they got the proper way to do it; however, in a sportsbook, the 2nd rd was confusing ... no inkling it would be A vs. B ... tht it would be like Rd 1, top two advance ... even then, hi drama)

Why do so many TV directors try to reinvent the wheel? It shouldn’t be that difficult to do the Home Run Derby … show viewers the pitch, the swing and the ball flying. Instead we are barely getting to see half the pitches, and they even missed a swing a short time ago.

The Trump/Miller Doctrine is to do something awful so many times over and over that it eventually stops being covered as news. Bombing boats in the Caribbean, bombing other countries, threatening allies, ICE murders, etc. The first few times? Big news. Now? Barely even mentioned.

All but two of these 10 were overturned … and the two exceptions were because a team was out of challenges. (It’s not just the Padres who screw that up.) Still think it would be better if ABS called every pitch. System works in tennis; don’t see why MLB would be different.

@JayPosnerSD but, is VAR allowed to relitigate a different part of the play? VAR was used to see if Parades deserved a yellow. in the NFL, if the refs are looking to see if a guy caught something in-bounds, they can't call a holding call if it's in the replay. gray area.
