Vitalik Buterin, the founder of Ethereum, has put forward a noteworthy proposal to revamp Ethereum's proof-of-stake system. The crux of his suggestion entails a change in how Ethereum handles validator signatures. At present, Ethereum supports an impressive number of validators, approximately 895,000. This extensive scale aims to boost decentralization, enabling a greater number of individuals and entities to engage in staking. However, this design calls for the Ethereum chain to process an overwhelming volume of signatures per slot, which leads to a substantial computational burden.
