No Bill Carlson aka “The ⚓️” for Vegas Golden Knights makes matters really difficult. I do believe VGK can win game 6 with their championship experience alone but they need to possess the puck way more and not let Carolina swarm them in the neutral zone in particular. When you don’t complete passes / keep the puck on the yellow it makes it easy for the Hurricanes to close time and space with their skating and up tempo game. You have to hold onto pucks and deposit into areas for your attack to skate onto. Here’s the line combinations I’d try that would help that: Barbie-Eichel-Stone Howden-Marner-Dorofeyev R. Smith- Hertl-Sissons C. Smith-Dowd- Coleslaw Vegas is clearly having an issue with the speed of Carolina and it looks overwhelming especially in Game 4/5. The adjustments internally to dictate the pace have to made if they want a chance of forcing a game 7. The line up above gives them a good mix of possession, speed and playmaking. Fourth line has got to wake up this series and make an impact. Let’s see where this goes.. good thing Torts left his Zegna ties in Raleighwood. -People’s

@TDChrisG You’re absolutely right! 19 is the spark we need to finish this SCF. In my opinion he should have been in long before now, hopefully Torts will recognize that too.

Smith being in the lineup provides an emotional boost for the players and fans. If Torts is capable of reading he room, Smith in the starting lineup will create an energy not seen yet for VGK in the Stanley Cup Final.

Anyone acting like playing a cold goalie in game 6 of the SCF is a good idea doesn’t understand hockey, let alone playoff hockey, at all. I get Hart has underperformed but it’s a bigger gamble to play a goalie who hasn’t played for months.

@ail3d11 @JesseGranger_ Hill has been playing solid goaltending year after year in the playoffs since the '23 cup. When the teams defense let down he elevates his game. The offense over the last few years in playoffs failed to even score in games.

@JesseGranger_ He understands that he peaked, and the D is much weaker that cup year…in perspective the similarities are undeniable, the save that topped out a goalies career:

John Tortorella remains very defensive about questions regarding the goalies. He said “it’s pretty self explanatory” about his confidence in Hart. Asked if the fact that he has a Cup-winning goalie on the bench makes it harder to stick with Hart, he said “No.”

@DylanTrotter11 @JLazzy23 I even argue Hill has shown up in the playoffs consistently every year since the '23 Cup. His boys were just offensively slow, and even failed to score in the recent playoff years.

@JLazzy23 The logic that because he was their starter when they won the cup 3 years ago means he deserves to get in net makes zero sense. Maybe they should think about going to Schmid since he shut the rangers out a couple times in the first round 3 years ago too

I didn’t think Adin Hill should start Game 6, but I would’ve liked to see if he could have made an impact. At this point though, that window has closed. Hill didn’t have a great regular season, but does that suddenly erase everything he’s accomplished? Everyone keeps talking about his regular season, who gives a shit, playoffs are different. I don’t think Hart is the reason this series has gone the way it has, but the reality is that he simply hasn’t been good enough. We’ll see how it goes tomorrow night.
