@BrentHCameron Can be self serving. But, can also be to help future leaders if sincere. Imagine if Bush, Cheney, and Rumsfeld read a.co/d/06YLPNKG or watched Fog Of War. McNamara was genuinely haunted and tried to make ammends.

I listened to a podcast where a couple of elites who screwed up majorly were pimping their book about how they "processed lessons" from the experience. Where's the lesson in fucking up, ruining lives, then getting a 7 figure book deal for a 300 page contrived mea culpa?

Maybe read your bill? The accepted forms of ID to vote under the SAVE Act: 1. Enhanced REAL ID: Only available in 5 states. Costs up to $50 (poll tax) and requires a birth certificate which 40M Americans lack access to. 2. Valid passport: 146M Americans do not have and costs at least $130 (poll tax). Trump gutted the agencies issuing them. 3. U.S. military ID card presented with military record of service. 4. Government-issued photo ID showing place of birth: 300M Americans do not have one, and costs up to $50 (poll tax). 5. Non-Enhanced REAL ID driver’s license, state ID, or tribal ID shown in conjunction with a birth certificate (40M lack access to) that matches your last name (which 69M women do not have due to marriage) and other forms of documentation, and which require a cost to obtain (poll tax). If this was truly a voter ID bill, it would provide every eligible voter in the U.S. a voter ID, and provide them at no cost to align with the 24th Amendment — so why doesn’t your bill do that if voter ID is so popular?

Here's the hard truth nobody wants to say out loud. 👇🏼 A society works when the middle class and lower middle class have rising incomes and feel aspirational about their lives. Right now they feel economically desperate. And that desperation is real and it is valid. But Trump has provided zero policy solutions. None. He's an avatar for their anger. I understand that. I genuinely do. But what they want right now is to wreck the entire system. The system that produced the greatest economic miracle in the history of the world. Not tweak it. Not reset it. Wreck it. And you know who else wants that? Vladimir Putin. Our adversaries have one goal: make the British and American people believe their elections don't matter. That their institutions aren't legitimate. That the system is rigged against them and their vote is meaningless. Make them cynical. Make them feel left out. Make them burn it down. Trump feeds that narrative every single day. Not because he's a Russian asset. But because his entire political existence depends on people feeling like the system is broken beyond repair. And our adversaries are sitting back and watching it work.

I've often said that Canada today feels like 80s or 90s US. I feel like this chart really helps account for the changes in the US the last 30-40 years and Canada's difference from the US today.
Pew Research Center@pewresearch

We asked people around the world to rate the morality and ethics of others in their country. The U.S. is the only place we surveyed where more adults describe the morality and ethics of others living in the country as bad than good. Every Family Day weekend, I remember moving to Canada and am reminded how grateful I am for the move, especially this year. It's been 9 years now. From my family, and I, thanks so much to Canada and the KW community for welcoming us and yes, to Google too for all the paperwork.

Darnold and Walker with the Lombardi trophy. Feels good as a Jets and MSU fan. Congrats also to two other 2018 Jets, Williams and Meyers. And, Walker with the MVP, also!

The deadly shooting in Minneapolis today was a straight-up execution of a protester by Trump's federal brownshirts. The thugs wrestled him to the ground. They pistol-whipped him, then shot him multiple times. They murdered him. The videos don't lie. A man is dead, killed in cold blood. There is no conceivable justification for this intentional homicide. And make no mistake, that intentional, unjustified homicide was committed on behalf of Donald J. Trump. Trump's militarization of Minneapolis and other parts of our nation isn't about illegal immigration. It's not about enhancing public safety. It's about destroying any sense of that safety—to intimidate political opponents, and to punish dissent. It's about a corrupt, out-of-control regime's effort to provoke citizens in order to justify the violence it desires to commit against them so that it can expand and retain its power. That is fascism. It is tyranny. It is governmental criminality. And the ultimate legal check the Framers of our Constitution provided to stop this kind of tyranny and criminality in the executive branch is impeachment and removal of the executive. Congress needs to do its job. Now. Before it's too late.

Do any Republicans in Congress care about Trump grabbing oil from Venezuela, handing it off to his megadonors to sell on the international market to whoever, depositing the proceeds in foreign bank accounts, then spending the money however he sees fit with no input from Congress?
