@rkuhn5167 They could probably make a run in the BTT as well. RPI isn’t good enough for playoffs, but they’ll be a great team next year. They just have to be able to keep their best players from entering the portal.

Tournament eligibility and tournament inclusion are two different things. I understand that some people believe they are synonymous, but they are not.
Had Kentucky, for example, been above .500, I still do not believe they would have been picked for the NCAA tournament.

@justfactsmaam It’s just like a team like Kentucky, who had 1 SEC win all year only needed to win like 3 games in the conference tournament to get NCAA tournament eligible. That’s the crazy part to me and it wouldn’t happen in any other conference.

It’s not a rule. But the 12 eligible teams from the SEC do all have multiple metrics in their favor; they’re all getting in.

There are 15 SEC softball programs. Missouri, Kentucky, and Auburn are all below .500 and ineligible for the NCAA tournament; the remaining 12 (ALA, ARK, FLA, UGA, LSU, OLE, MSST, OU, SC, TEN, TEX, TXAM) are eligible and will all make the field.
