...I could feel a phantom drop of milk leak from my left breast, yearning to nourish, to give life and sustain it. It stained my blouse.

After a hectic morning in which two separate pediatricians were frantically dialed, my heart heaved. The danger was past, but the adrenaline still flowed. When I stopped to breathe...

Shards of ice stab the air atop a rock in the lake. Under the warmth of my gaze, they lose their hold, slipping quietly, one by one, into the winter water. The sun blazes above; it’s a comfortable 50 degrees in late February. Is this how glaciers fall?

Her friends moved away, one by one. She used all the technologies to stay in touch, but then what to do about hugs? One day she went to a desert and recognized herself in a cactus. Getting just enough moisture to keep her going...

1. I started doing a thing: writing mini-stories, 50-100 words each. It's addictive, and now I'm writing one or more a day. I'm sharing 3 & will continue sharing every day. They may be good, cheesy, or uninspired, even. I hope you'll read, and maybe one will resonate with you.
