@GernonBen He once spent his entire lunch break between Cleveland Orchestra rehearsals to talk through Sibelius 7 with me—rehearsal letter by rehearsal letter—from memory. He had the most wonderful, relaxed but whip-like way of leading a tempo. I’m so grateful for the time we spent together

10 years ago today, Sir Colin Davis died.  I was really lucky to study with him- his lessons and wisdom I still carry with me today.  So I thought it would be lovely for all of us to share our favourite memories of him + we can have a gargantuan thread of Colin brilliantness.

The sun was shining this morning in Stockholm. I’m hoping that is a good sign for humanity today. I’m happy to start rehearsals this afternoon @Berwaldhallen Mozart Zauberflöte overture Sibelius Luonnotar Stravinsky Firebird 1919 Excited to see this great orchestra again!
