Well, if you don't want to mod the game. The closest experience you'll want is either the GBA, or PS1 version. Or if you want the whole package, the PSP version. You get the After Years content too. The SNES version, while flawed, is a good entry for beginners who would start with JRPGs. 😁

@Jaymonius Look I never said I have good opinions but I played it earlier this year and enjoyed my time with it 🥹🥹 But tbf there is a big *almost* in that tweet bc it is indeed a really weird experience, it iiisss better than the original / the restoration patch though

FFIV is a ridiculously balanced game, and I'd almost suggest people who don't enjoy grinding to just play the original SNES release, no mods no nothing.

Can I just make a mention on how incredibly BS Zeromus is in the Pixel Remasters? He behaves like he usually does in previous installments, but the only thing that separates this one from the others is that his Bio attack is way too strong for an AoE. And if he uses it with Big Bang, it is VERY hard to recover from. x.x;

@juunibug FF2's final boss can be tough for only one thing. His physical attack is crazy high, and it does a lot of damage to the enemy, and he recovers from half the damage he inflicts.

He behaves like he usually does in previous installments, but the only thing that separates this one from the others is that his Bio attack is way too strong for an AoE. And if he uses it with Big Bang, it is VERY hard to recover from. x.x;

I’m an FF8 lover and FF2 defender. I know this seems controversial to some and people want to correct me, but at the end of the day, I adore both of these games No need to be a prick. There’s a Final Fantasy for everyone and making people feel bad about it is very uncool 🙂‍↔️

@Jaymonius @aujangabadi It's a real bastard move. If the whole game had been a little tougher from the start, I would've spent the whole game leveling up a little more than I otherwise would've and been ready for the end. This just forces you to grind out 10-15 levels at the very end. What fun.

@myriad___truths Chaos is hard for a few factors. No GBA content equipment, his stats are based off the GBA version, and the heavy RNG you have to rely on to win. Zeromus is hard because of his buffs with spell damage. Otherwise he behaves the same.

I dont know who on the Pixel Remaster dev team decided to make Chaos and Zeromus so much more punishing than all their previous appearances but also have the Demon Emperor, Cloud of Darkness, Neo Exdeath and Kefka about the same or easier in difficulty 😭✌🏿

@aujangabadi @nrrork My team shown was in their mid to late 50's. It's usually the average in the majority of my runs through each iteration. I don't think grinding is entirely necessary. And yeah, the ATB in the PSP FFIV is blehhhhh!

@Jaymonius @nrrork Unfortunately, in the IV PR, grinding is the solution. IV is my favorite FF and I've played it on every platform it's released on (I still have my WSC copy 😅) and the endgame in IV is overtuned compared to previous iterations. At least it's better than the PSP ATB issue! 😄

@AurochDragon It just baffles me on just how much the buffed the Bio spell. It does the same damage to a single target than it does to AoE. You'd think it'd do less with AoE.

Zeromus is funny as hell bc he's either completely nonfunctional or randomly the hardest final boss in the series depending on how broken ATB is in the version of FF4 you play
