Note the sheer amount of dust produced by a standard grenade. A few points to consider:
- Standard CQB tactics often reinforce speed to exploit the grenade, but how often does this effect get represented in training?
- Weapon lights need to be high-lumen-high-candela to penetrate dust, while high-lumen-low-candela just creates a floodlight effect on the dust, blinding everyone.
- Most importantly🚨: There are short and long-term health implication for operating in high dust enviroments, especially concrete/silica dust. This is something which is incredibly common in high-intensity urban combat, but rarely considered by militaries.
