When I first met Mari-san (@MKikuma) back in 2018, I was so incredibly nervous, but she was so warm and kind to me. I still deeply treasure the autograph she left on my Marie kimono to this very day. Pouring my heart into Marie has truly led me to the greatest honor of my life. 💚 To go from that nervous fan in 2018, to standing proudly alongside her this year... words cannot describe how much this means to me. Mood.

some lore for the timeline today: the Marie ASMR series started as a one shot for Mar13 Day but over time the idea of “things I’d love for her to say” sort of took over. the second episode at the beach took inspiration from the ambiance in the first video. it was also 20 minutes longer. and then after Summer Nights we got a Marie x Listener situation(ship) (/j). it’s a good thing I had her be a little playful from the start so it transitioned well because I kinda wish it had been my original intention to have the listener get romantically involved. there’s been so many wonderful comments this past year and it is a bit validating that people write things like “you did wonders for the self ship community” but again that’s only if they happen to fw it. not everyone will and that’s OK! 😳👍 I do appreciate that with this being a fan series ppl already know I’m playing a character and separate me from the role. I love Marie so much though, so as weird as it sounds this is also like a form of self-love for me being able to listen back to my recordings. and I don’t think I’d have been able to afford bringing on someone else to VA such continuously long scripts (no one else as delusional tbh). it’s a lot of long nights but by working on everything else myself it means I can give much more support to the amazing artists I work with!!! I can’t wait to share the next scenario with everyone 🤩💪
