Sundin's time in Toronto started with "can never replace Wendel" and ended in the Muskoka 5. The peak of those early 2000's teams was full of talk of locker room cliques & division. Toronto media constantly said Mats was a me-guy and wanted to give his C away to someone grittier.

One of the most frustrating parts of this "maybe hiring Sundin" saga has been the revisionism of what the environment was like in his era. I loved the guy, but all the same complaints of today existed back then, and then some. The rosy retrospectives are spiralling out of control

@summoningsalt I used to watch every video of yours the moment they came out. Now I tend to watch them much later or skip them entirely if the game doesn't interest me, and I think the format is a part of it. Bringing in new voices and more personal stories would be a welcome change for me.
