The Canucks really need to get off Elias Petterssons contract now. Not 2 years from now, not 3. They cannot risk him still being shit as time goes on & being stuck with his contract when the rebuild is over. He isint getting a great trade return in a year or 2 so just do it now.

Bruce Cassidy seems destined to go to a contender that loses early in the playoffs, not the 32nd placed #Canucks
He makes $4.5 million a season, so VAN would have to overpay him to come here. Foote is reportedly making $1.5M a season. Doubt the owner wants to spend that much.

With the #NYR win over the #Blackhawks, both teams are at 67 points. That means the #Canucks are now 17 points clear of 31st. With 11 games remaining, VAN can max out at 72 points. If VAN loses in regulation to CGY on Saturday, NYR beat FLA & CHI beat NJD on Sunday, AND VAN loses in regulation to VGK on Monday, they will have locked up the best odds at drafting 1st overall in June.
