I coauthored Historical Rules with Matt and another member of the Top Shot team. For some reason, it took 3-months (?) with rounds of edits that were all reviewed, negotiated, and approved by every senior leader and exec at Top Shot. 😢🪦

@KingsofCardio If true, wouldn’t this also mean psa and other “grading” companies are useless as they would have been grading fakes and either can’t discern counterfeits or more likely don’t care and just want to keep the machine moving

This is a wild story. That's a whole lot of fake cards. It makes perfect sense quite frankly. People are highly incentivized to counterfeit them. And with ai and other ultra modern tools, it's getting easier to create fakesters.

He claims his team infiltrated databases from various major memorabilia companies, selling forged items across the industry undetected for years. The post also alleges law enforcement recently raided the operation, with semi-trucks seizing over $500M worth of fake merchandise. Recent reports of a deceased body have been confirmed at the site of the raid, but the investigation is still pending.
