Florida processes more than 10 million votes in a matter of hours. California takes days — or sometimes even weeks — to count the votes. It’s pathetic — and it’s corrosive to our civic culture.

There are so many uncounted votes in the bigger California counties that no one can really be sure of outcomes now especially if margins are in the single digits. Ridiculous that we can't say anything definitive more than 24 hours after polls closed.

Many Californians don’t realize that the California Air Resources Board (CARB) operates under special federal waivers granted under the federal Clean Air Act — permissions that allow California to set vehicle emissions rules stricter than federal standards. Congress gave California that authority decades ago with the expectation that it would be used responsibly and in the best interests of the public. But today, many Californians are asking an important question: Has CARB gone too far? Sen. Lisa Murkowski (R-AK) won Alaska by 18,796 votes in 2022. Alaska had 114,938 more voters than eligible voting age citizens. Alaska reported 648,790 registered voters in 2022. Alaska’s citizen voting-age population was 533,852.
