@CriticaIity1 @upisdownifisay As a moral relativist, I don't consider evil to exist as an objective state. We are dealing with the notion that you "should" put your life at risk to save the irrational part of the society. That notion I don't agree with and find evil because it affects individual liberty.

@CriticaIity1 @upisdownifisay To me, evil means putting yourself and others at risk for no benefit to anyone. Evil is highly correlated with stupidity. Can I ask for your definition of evil?

@CriticaIity1 @upisdownifisay @strangestloop I don't care about religious people. Religion gives irrational incentives to commit acts that are supposedly for greater good. Just like pressing the blue button. I never claimed religion is good for society in the first place.

@upisdownifisay @strangestloop These two are E Q U I V A L E N T. The tiny baby pressed blue by a random outcome of the universe. Now the mother faces an EQUIVALENT dilemma. Why has your position shifted so suddenly? Uncomfortable framing? You wouldn't enjoy as much virtue signalling?

@JeanPierreDolle @strangestloop You completely misunderstand why someone would press blue I think because no, that isn't consistent with my opinions or morals at all. Try understanding others instead of doing whatever this is you're doing.

@Cuuper22 @justalexoki No worries. You do you. You can risk your life your whatever purpose you wish. I will just not kill myself. It's that simple.

@JeanPierreDolle @justalexoki I didn't say for greater good and left it open I said for others not to die, I am willing to take an action detrimental to my own life, irrespective of who they are because human life is sacred equally and mine has no more worth than a stranger or enemy, neither are they

@elispinkrose It's funny, bo ja pracując na budowie znam samych wyborców konfederacji i może dwóch z lewicy. Point being?

@upisdownifisay @strangestloop I expect that when a woman's pregnancy is endangered, you also force the woman to give birth? That's the altruistic choice. The woman doesn't have a guarantee to survive. But "what about the dumb child that didn't know any better?" Surely that's your position, right? RIGHT?

@JeanPierreDolle @strangestloop no they aren't, they're purely a result of the red votes. blue is only risky for yourself if others are likely to vote red. blue is altruist while red is murderous

@JeanPierreDolle @strangestloop without the dumbass analogy, explain plainly how picking the choice where everyone can survive is the choice that "puts the lives of others at risk" while your choice, if in majority, is the one with the most death. your analogy sucks

@upisdownifisay @strangestloop You are evil, because you are willing to put your lives and lives of others at risk for the purpose of virtue signalling. You are no different from a judge releasing a rapist to show how merciful she is.

@strangestloop can you explain to me why red voters see blue voters as "evil, evil people" ? am i evil for making red voters look bad by chosing blue? seriously i can't think of a narrative where blue voters have done anything morally reprehensible and i've seen people say that's "deeply evil"

@strangestloop "Let's make everyone risk their lives for absolutely zero reason whatsoever" No wonder how humanity is inclined to start wars.

@Cuuper22 @justalexoki If you think about it, people like you are the reason why wars exist. I would never be able to die in someone else's war. If people cared about their own good and dying "for the greater good", the world would be peaceful.

@MisterFireTango It has nothing to do with trust. Voting blue means endangering your life and others. It's not so bad if it's for some personal gain or money, etc. But these people do it for no reason whatsoever! How can you build a high trust society with ppl who put your life at risk?

@JeanPierreDolle Its really difficult to build an efficient and functioning society with exclusively people who think that high trust people deserve to have their trust broken and be killed

@MisterFireTango Blues are the ones putting their and other people's lives at risks. It's difficult to build an efficient and functioning society when you have people literally lying down on the tracks in front of a train.

@JeanPierreDolle Reds are people willing to kill potentially 4 billion people for the sake of their own life, this is not the mindset that creates a high trust cooperative society

Blue voters are the reason wars take place in this world. Valuing your own life and your family so little that you're willing to gamble your existence for "the morally correct answer". Absolutely despicable. Tyranny dressed up for compassion. Recipe for disaster.
Tim Urban@waitbutwhy

Everyone in the world has to take a private vote by pressing a red or blue button. If more than 50% of people press the blue button, everyone survives. If less than 50% of people press the blue button, only people who pressed the red button survive. Which button would you press?

@Cuuper22 @justalexoki It's a very nice explanation you have here, now let's say you actually are given these buttons to press. Are you ready to d1e to try to save others?

@justalexoki "Everyone will just" is a mask for "I'm selfish, how could I choose myself but not really show it" And some of them carry implicit pride or feeling of superiority, like it's fine that people who don't get it deserve death.
