We need more stories like this shared/published to increase awareness of good outcomes that are possible after severe brain injury. Falsely assumed poor prognosis and futility in rehab can limit patients' recovery potential more than their brain injury itself.

Specialized intensive inpatient rehabilitation is crucial and time-sensitive for DoC frontiersin.org/articles/10.33… Key messages: 1) Persons with DoC can make measurable functional improvements with intensive rehabilitation, measured by and beyond the standard scales.
