@progambler47 Would agree with most of this, (in fact surprised you only mention online casinos rather than casinos in general) however the postcode lottery & the national lottery offer extreme jackpots that IMHO (even though odds are against you) are worth £4 or so a week on a direct debit 👍🏻

I see the fraudster that is Jason Haddigan (sorry George White) is at it again. Dissolved last company & now trading under G.White subscriptions ltd. If only those Twitter pages dedicated to taking him down actually focused on the important stuff rather than scrutinising his tips

@ELawlor64044 I don’t have a legal background to know the best approach. But those anti Haddigan pages started with good intentions but have quickly become closed obsessive with his tips. Focusing on completely the wrong thing ending up in continued tit for tat arguments

@NeighthanSire @GingertabsT That’s a lot harder to police. Hence - cash is king to tradies. People leaving a digital footprint lead a much riskier life, especially continued offenders such as Haddigan. Itd be the first thing accountants advise to do if it was above board - they’d also get set up fees on top

@JedL2b @GingertabsT They got the odd couple but on the whole HMRC are shite! I knew a man who had all his jobs paid in cash, transferred into his account. Lives the life of Riley tax free cash, even after being tipped off. They’re terrible

@GingertabsT @NeighthanSire It absolutely is. My plumber was recently caught out by artificial disaggregation. He basically set one up as a mobile repairs business & the other as his normal bathroom & kitchen heating company after some poor accountancy advice. HMRC came down on him like a ton of bricks

@JedL2b @NeighthanSire Thats not illegal to split company up either. Or put one in Wife's name/directorship. They are legal loopholes, extracting as much money from the business as you can legally. As my accountant said, we give the t*Xman as little as possible...

@GingertabsT @NeighthanSire Covid was a very unique scenario where businesses were able to claim for all sorts of electrical equipment which could then simply returned the next day for an instant credit. What he is doing is not usual business trading

@JedL2b @NeighthanSire Guys, please dont be naive. There are thousands of companies who "traded" for less than a year during covid. And then were awarded bounce back loans and then suddenly closed up shop. Loads with multiple same directors. All above board.

@NeighthanSire @GingertabsT Correct, may not be illegal per-say but if HMRC piece it together in the same way they would someone who splits a company into 2 separate ones to avoid VAT he’ll be looking at a pretty hefty bill & fine.

@GingertabsT @333peterobinson @DBafc29 There is a difference between claiming the odd business lunch or additional laptop compared to continually opening & closing companies. I don’t k ow of any reputable accountant that would actively encourage this kind of behaviour. HMRC will see through this

@JedL2b Thats a moot point. HMRC dont flag it until your accounts show over the threshold for a particular year which by and large wont hit their radar for 2 yrs so they can easily get away with it by closing down

@darran310 Exactly. Its all one way. He’s bound to have winning days, posting his bets daily is a pointless exercise. He has no edge, he’ll win some days but lose more. Blocking people for giving an opinion is childish. Just incapable of having a discussion with a slightly different opinion
