@JEREMYSICRE @RealMarcFoxx You think? It is not fucking normal, rofl. Most of the player base is poor because the game has a terrible loot/progression economy. I got 400h out of the game & mostly enjoyed it, however it is dying & these numbers are not normal. They failed casuals by leaps & bounds.

@RealMarcFoxx i think this is normal in extraction shooters tho, we’re at mid season. a lot of ppl have accomplished VIP factions, have stacked vaults and money, dont really have much to play for. the new season is gonna be the deciding factor of the future.

@cptCodeBreak3r @KryDotExe Yes. Which is what happens in majority of fights. Almost everyone whiffs pellets regularly. You must have near PERFECT aim to down a green shield in 2 shots. Only 1/20 pellets can miss. That is what this clip displays. In theory it downs greens, in reality it usually won’t.

@spaceartnoob @staycationtg The gun only downs green shields assuming near PERFECT play. 1 missed pellet out of 20 MAX. The reality is that almost NEVER happens. In most instances the gun won’t even down green shields in 2 shots, sometimes not even white. As you can see in this clip.

@staycationtg I mean, you do barely have any shields left. Lmk when you got a clip of it up against blue shields, at full. Everyone expected it to still work against green and lower, which is basically what you were at? Was this a one shot kill before?

@xxyourdisease @MintBlitz A change was needed but they 100% went too far. They nerfed the damage by almost half from 150/shot to 86. The issue was you could miss 33% of pellets and still down a purple in 2 shots. It was too forgiving. 2 DB rounds point blank should kill anyone in any universe.

@MintBlitz Shotgun change was needed. The game is difficult and no amount of change to weapons damage or shields is gonna change that. It would need to be reworked at a fundamental level. They have introduced qol and carri system updates to help players but they gotta put in the work.

My Marathon Feedback as someone with 300 hours playtime. Wstr shotgun - damage nerf went too far, decrease rate of fire and remove stack overflow for the gun. Limit grenades and equipment in inventory to incentivise tactical use, not spam. New players are being destroyed and not returning, something needs to be done to help them. Endgame content feels inaccessible to the average player, seems like they’ll never get vaults done, let alone the compiler. The reality is this will turn players away from the game regardless of how elite players feel. Be careful with the heavy handed nerfs, a value change might be easier to do than a mechanic change, but I’m wary about the sandbox health when you start doing so many. Finally, nobody should be able to hoard 25 gold mods of a single weapon from a barter. Literally makes the “legendary” part of the gun redundant.

@jingelhymer SBMM ruins the magic of extraction games. Marathon is such a flawed extraction game that they don’t know where to start fixing it. Roguelite with PvP isn’t a game people want to play.

Marathon is a rouge lite with PvP. The point of rouge lites is as you progress and get better gear you become stronger. Marathons whole thing is BECOME GOD. sbmm in an extraction shooter where one of the variable of your skill is gear progression means eventually you will match top players as you progress your factions and start getting better gear and gain an edge against other teams. Its why Extraction shooters and Marathon have a wipe every 3-4 months. its not an Arena shooter where everyone starts off on the same foot. You can take out a team better than you if you come in better prepped. PvE enemies also create instances where you can catch better teams off guard. There are so many different ways a fight can go down in an extraction shooter and thats kind of why extraction shooters are fun. Even as a top player you dont know how the next fight is going to go. SBMM/GBMM also kills Zero to Hero moments where you do come out on top. You can catch a better team making a mistake, Fighting PvE Enemies, or not watching their back as they fight another team. coming in with sponsored kits and leaving with gold is rad. Level Based Matchmaking is fine to a degree (and from what we know thats what Bungie uses) and keeps Marathon in the spirit of what makes extraction shooters so exciting and addicting. TLDR; SBMM/GBMM is antithetical to what makes Extraction shooters exciting and fun.

Today I played #Marathon on controller on PS5 on my 49-inch bedroom TV. I’ve never really said anything against aim assist before, but after today I can say with 100% certainty: aim assist is straight up cheating. 😭 It’s actually crazy how hard I’m wiping lobbies with my boys even though I’m dogshit on controller. 💩😂

I love and play Marathon more than most that I know, however this week has really burnt me out. Should things not improve Tuesday I feel I'm left with the painful decision to stop putting in as much playtime. I understand there is a bug that is contributing to this, however I fear that Level-Based Matchmaking in combination with the Free Kit Queue is resulting in what feels like incredibly small player pools. Whether its Cryo or Marsh, I'm constantly matchmaking names I know. Things are no longer unpredictable, there isn't any more excitement to the unknown. Queue times are long and drawn out. Some players queuing in with pre-made teams. I'm often faced with full end-game top teams repeatedly, regardless of if I'm loading in with Green reinforced shields for an eco run (I frequently use credits/armory builds), or a Gold loadout. I'm frequently running into familiar faces that b/c we can see its them (no streamer mode/anonymity), play differently or are all inclined to be friendly out of respect - I'm sure many players (myself included) play differently based on names they might see. This is dismantling my enjoyment of high highs and low lows, and hindering the gameplay loop for me. I'm someone who doesn't burn out of what I love - and I've been having such a phenomenal time with the community. However its hard not to get exhausted and worn out with this experience, especially with some folks skewing my words back at me about it.
