Went to a sports bar today to watch the tournament. We'd been there before, good food, good beer. Walked in and they had zero tournament games on. "Working on it." After one beer they still had zero games on. Mostly baseball and football re-runs on the TVs...a few TVs with a tournament app on, but "free trial expired.". Obviously, we left. I still don't actually understand any of it. How do you own a "sports bar" and not plan on having all the games on all day on one of the most important sports days of the year?

The Padres told Team USA that Mason Miller could only pitch in a save situation.
The Yankees told Team USA that David Bednar was unavailable.
The Cubs told Venezuela that Daniel Palencia could only pitch in a save situation.
There were other pitchers Venezuela didn’t have at their disposal because their MLB teams said they were unavailable.
As much fun and as exciting as the WBC was this is exactly why it’ll always be a flawed tournament.

Is it just us or are you also happy the WBC is over? So tired of all the controversy overshadowing what the Detroit Tigers are doing in spring training. Time for Skubal, Vest, Torres and Montero to return to Lakeland and re-focus on what really counts - playing deep into October.
