It no mistake with the timing of the LIV is dead rumours dropping late Tuesday night. Everything systematically coming from unnamed sources. Reasons for this time is as follows. 1) LIV is off to its best start ever with massive events in 🇦🇺 & 🇿🇦 have shown this is real and continues to show massive growth. Add in the AK win being the biggest story in golf’s Q1 and one of the best stories in years. 2) LIV’s about to tee off for the 1st time this season in North America time zones…Mexico will be broadcasting in favourable time slots for NA fans and directly competing with the PGAT for the first time this season. 3) LIV is well on their way to selling major stakes in the franchise with would further cement them as a competitor of PGATE. Creating rumours in an attempt to scare away potential investors is a good thing for PGATE. 4) With PGAT facing potential mass layoffs and reduced prize money, they really needed a story to deflect attention. Anyone with their eyes open can see, of all the years LIV has been alive, this is not the year they would die as they have never been better. The crowds have been massive, sponsorship has skyrocketed to nearly $500m and young talent are see it as their 1st choice. #LongLIVGolf

For many years, the discussion has been "which players can move the needle" when it comes to golf coverage. The response was often "Tiger Woods doesn't move the needle, HE IS the needle." That is no longer the case, Rory McIlroy is now clearly THE needle.

Yes, there’s a number of rounds that ANGC will say no to for me to go by myself and play by myself. That number is prob a little lower for me than a guy like Rory. If you find a member to host you every time, there’s no limit. I had plenty of chances to go to ANGC myself if I wanted to but didn’t go. Better use of my time practicing at home or wherever I am to get my game in better shape for my next tournament. Course knowledge only gets you so far. Plenty of golfers have even more experience at Augusta than Rory like Justin Rose.

Was this Rory’s most impressive major championship win? Never had his A-game but chipped and putted and managed his way into the lead. Then never panicked when he lost the lead. Then, when the jacket was there for the taking, he started flushing it. Mature and workmanlike.🤯
