Nothing egregious of controversial, but in the wake of one of the worst icing calls I've seen this season, I just want to note that this Vancouver @ Seattle game has not been especially well officiated.

This past Tuesday evening at 10:44pm , an AbbyPD Patrol officer was conducting speed enforcement on Highway 11 near Townshipline Road using a speed laser. A grey pickup truck was detected travelling 198 km/h in the posted 80 km/h zone. Due to the extreme speed, additional officers were called to assist as the vehicle continued westbound on Downes Road, reaching speeds in excess of 200 km/h in the posted 60 km/h zone. To help stop the vehicle, officers deployed a spike belt at the Mt. Lehman Road and Downes Road intersection. Shortly afterward, the driver lost control and collided with a light pole at 48 Avenue and 272 Street in Aldergrove. No injuries were reported. Officers arrested the 25‑year‑old driver for Dangerous Driving and for Refusing to Provide a Breath Sample after detecting alcohol on his breath. Criminal charges are pending, and the driver is scheduled for a first court appearance on April 13. He was also issued an immediate 90‑day driving suspension. Our officers remain committed to ensuring the safety of all road users. Dangerous driving, impaired driving, and excessive speeding will continue to be met with enforcement and accountability. So far this year, AbbyPD officers have removed 167 impaired drivers from the road, impounded 57 vehicles for excessive speed, and initiated 4 Dangerous Driving investigations. #RoadSafetyMatters
