First WALANT case today in practice @UChicagoMed. I think I had more anxiety than the patient but all went smoothly! Blocking in preop and waiting the 15+ minutes achieved great hemostasis. Any other pearls that are imperative to successful WALANT?

@JeffStepanMD @UChicagoMed Congrats! It’s also important to leave yourself enough time to do the block. You can’t appear rushed... which makes it harder in a high efficiency setting. As @DrMoghtaderi espouses in @HandPodcast : have a code/vocabulary system w your staff to avoid words that spook patients!
