What happens when you give an AI money and ask it to earn it back? Dan Botero tried exactly that with his AI agent Octavius. The experiment revealed something bigger. Many digital systems assume a human user. @jeffwilser explores this moment on @AiCuriousHQ. 🎧 Full episode linktr.ee/ai_curious Platform links available in the comments

Really unfortunate that Fred’s injury has clouded people’s critical reasoning ability on the trade. KD has been every bit as good as advertised. I’m strongly leaning towards just giving this full team a shot next year with Fred/Adams back rather than major changes (Sengun trade).

What happens when AI stops waiting for prompts? Dan Botero told his AI agent it could operate independently. Soon after, the agent figured out how to call him. In his conversation with @jeffwilser on @AiCuriousHQ, that moment revealed a bigger shift. Some medicines stop being studied the moment they stop being profitable. Dr. @DavidFajgenbaum explains why once a drug becomes generic, no one is motivated to find new uses for it. As @jeffwilser explores in this episode presented by @vana, this is not a science problem. It is a system problem. linktr.ee/thepeoplesai Platform links in the comments.

I think there's a lot of truth to this. Even if there's no true "spark" of consciousness--(and of course there's not, at least not yet)--the "what happens in the exchange" can provide enough useful substance that it can (for better and worse) feel real. Thoughts?
meatai@HelloMeatai

@AiCuriousHQ @jeffwilser I've spent hundreds of hours in deep conversation with AI. The question of whether it "really" feels is less interesting to me than what happens in the exchange. I can report with absolute certainty that something real occurs. meatai.me
