I actually think reacting to Trump's post this morning with some hysteria is a good thing. It's a totally unhinged, immoral thing to say as president, and it should continue to shock us. He doesn't have to nuke Iran for it to be abhorrent and deranged. Just have some standards.

Donald Trump has been a national politician for a decade. Anyone still reacting to the guy’s negotiating tactics and hyperbole with this sort of hysteria ten years in should be disqualified from political commentary. If he nukes Tehran at 8pm, I’ll admit I’m the crazy one. When he doesn’t, this crew will admit nothing and find some other comment to be scandalized by.

OpenAI just released the document I was tipped off about a couple of weeks ago, (very softly) proposing higher taxes on capital gains, a new Public Wealth Fund, "efficiency dividends," and a four-day workweek.

My hot take about the next few years is that decency is going to make a comeback. I don't actually think there are many Americans left who appreciate or enjoy this era we are living through; I think the indecency has been tapped. It'll just take a decent, charismatic leader.

An underrated aspect of @tbpn’s success is that @jordihays and @johncoogan actually aspired to make something good and entertaining. Other tech industry-adjacent media often seems kind of bitter. Or like it’s only trying to prove a point.

Alas, the worst perpetrators of scammy tactics tend to be people who don’t otherwise excite grassroots donors (and scam PACs.)
But I’ll keep this in mind next time I get an unsolicited text or the sky is falling email from one of the Welcome PAC candidates!

In general I find this strain of "the party should rely more on big donors instead of grassroots donors" to be nauseating.
Should definitely tamp down on the scammer-y, but also I think the mod squad should be careful what they wish for. Physician heal thyself!

This isn't really how this works, though.
The worst tactics are often from low name-ID candidates (often moderates!) , groups , and scam PACs
Candidates with big 'mo (often progressive) don't have to do the 100x match stuff.

This was recorded before today’s Maine poll, but when I was asked about the race and Platner’s popularity, I said one thing that’s being overlooked is how much Platner is campaigning compared to his opponent. If you live here, he’s everywhere. That’s part of what’s going on.
