@theemrhammer Hard to say, because I do have clinical depression and anxiety, but I think that greater exposure to the world's nonsense might, of late, be taking depression and anxiety to clinical levels in people who might otherwise not have needed that much mental health care.

@JeffreyCook74 The thing that pisses me off about the proposal so much is that Dinah's already told him - recently (BoP 88 is cover dated January 2006, GA 75 August 2007) that she currently doesn't want to be with him, but he still proposes anyway. No build up, nothing. It was awful.

I will never be able to explain how much I hate that we went from this fantastic closure in Birds of Prey #88 to this proposal in Green Arrow #75.

@DottieDinoRAWR I think he does! Honestly, no idea what's going on in this story besides the two of them fighting together, but they're both bi, and it is a Pride issue, so I'm climbing aboard a ship, haha.

I love the look - always have - but calling him Black Condor always made me scratch my head. In nature, canaries are both male and female. So are condors. Why why...couldn't he just be Black Canary? And does that make the genderbent Black Condor of that world Black Canary?

@Ms_Wire In my case, even if the advice were correct, I'd have to 1. stop all the medicine that mitigates the worst of it in order to have a healthy pregnancy. 2. pass on the genes to the baby, in some kind of It Follows / The Ring type nastiness.

@mowochi I had some fun with something kind of like this in a weird fic of mine. Including someone calling him out for talking about the protagonist of the better book as inferior to Luo Binghe. "Look, Luo Binghe is a protagonist's protagonist; it's no insult to Hou Dajian not to be him"

canonically, pidw isn’t sqh’s first novel, just his most popular one… i REALLY want to know what the others were & if sy hadn’t died, if he would’ve tried to read them after pidw

@LicenceToMock Even as not much of a DC person, I understand. It's like how I'll always ship Janet/Paladin, because the divorcee years, with a casual relationship that wasn't the focus of her life, were when i feel she came into her own.

Black Canary is better written and a more interesting character when she's not with Green Arrow, and them getting back together killed all of her growth/momentum. It's unfortunate that even as DC is building out her legacy with Red Canary, it's getting folded into the Arrowfam.
