I wish I could be what I long to be. I wish I could be a great lamp that lights up Gaza City. I wish I could be a sky that rains peace instead of fire. I wish I could be a hand reaching every frightened child, giving them safety. I wish I could be a roof that protects homes from collapsing. I wish I could be bread for every hungry person, and water for every thirsty one, and medicine to ease every sick person’s pain. I wish I could be a window of hope that never closes, and a voice that cries out for justice until the world hears it, and a heart big enough to embrace all of Gaza when the pain becomes unbearable. But in the end, I am only a human standing helpless before this immense pain, with nothing left but prayer— that one day Gaza wakes up to the light of life, not the sound of war.

My name is Mahmoud, and I am from Gaza. I am doing my best to survive despite the extremely difficult circumstances and immense pressure I am facing. I carry the responsibility of providing food, water, and medicine not only for my family, but also for five other families. My father was injured in the face during this war, and we recently discovered that he has a tumor in his head and urgently needs treatment and medical care. As for me, I developed diabetes during the war due to the severe stress and pressure. The constant worry and responsibility have taken a serious toll on my health, and I now need to take medication regularly. chuffed.org/project/165532…

My Instagram account was permanently disabled, and my Facebook account was disabled too because it was linked to my Instagram. They say the reason is that I was asking people for help. But what hurts me deeply is this question: why were we forced into this situation in the first place? Why are we trapped in our own land? Why are we prevented from receiving enough food? Why were our homes destroyed, our land bulldozed, our universities ruined, and our jobs taken away? We are surrounded from every direction, struggling every day just to survive — and on top of all of that, we are told that we shouldn’t ask people for help. How are we supposed to survive in silence? I’m truly heartbroken over losing my Instagram and Facebook accounts because I may never recover them. They held years of memories, photos, conversations, and friendships. I had an archive of my life there — memories that can never be replaced. What we are living through is incredibly painful. And what hurts even more is that all of this is happening in front of the entire world… and the world remains silent.

April 21, 2026, will remain etched in history forever. Alhamdullah, we have officially opened the first library to be built during the genocide in Gaza. I survived, even after all my expectations had utterly failed. I never imagined that I would stand here among you today; I never imagined that I would soar once again. Like a phoenix, I have risen, carrying in my right hand a legacy that refused to die, and in my left, the very ashes with which epics of steadfastness were written. When the ink ran dry, I wrote with what remained; the ink dried, and blood flowed, so that our first lines were written by a martyr—a witness to our undying struggle. In Gaza, building a library during a genocide is an act that rises to the level of liberation—perhaps, it is liberation itself. Every book I carried on my shoulders while displaced, and every book I rescued from the rubble, was a stolen homeland. A homeland whose pages they tore, yet the hope of reclaiming it remains alive within us for as long as we live. Because our Palestinian curriculum and educational system are monitored by the Israeli occupation, we must read. We must read so that we do not become machines fashioned by their hands. We must break free from this 'factory' and become like the olive trees—plants that found their path through the soil of Palestine, emerging in the most beautiful form of struggle and resilience. In an age obsessed with valuing knowledge based on its material return, I was forced to fight many battles to convince those who argued with me amidst the shelling: 'What good will these books do you? Why do you take them with you every time you are displaced?' Perhaps they were right; at that time, a loaf of bread was more precious and costly than anything else. But I held a deep, unshakable faith that I would be here one day. Someone once told me: 'There is a hand that, were it not for its vigilance, we would perish.' He passed away, but my left hand remained, writing and writing and writing, until today I have three books—and a wound that never heals. In closing, I wish to thank every human being who had a hand in the Phoenix’s rebirth. -Omar Hamad.

The man who studied law has now become a “witness to its total collapse.” Professor Ghanem Al-Attar holds a PhD in International Constitutional Law. In a just world, he would be in a lecture hall shaping the minds of future jurists. Today, however, in the “open-air prison” of Gaza, he moves through the rubble just to find a gallon of water. This is the ultimate irony of 2026: the very international law he specialized in has failed to secure his most basic human rights—water and safety. When a professor of law is forced to live under unlawful bombardment, it is not merely a personal tragedy; it is a global constitutional crisis. We are not only losing buildings, we are wasting the greatest minds of an entire generation. 🙌⚖️

One of the most terrifying scenes for children in the world. A five-year-old girl was playing next to a school sheltering displaced people when suddenly a missile struck the area, resulting in a horrific massacre. The girl ran in a state of extreme panic, hysterically, likely driven by the adrenaline rushing through her body, trying to escape the horror of what had just happened.

For a long time, massacres have been committed in Palestine. The Deir Yassin Massacre On April 9, 1948, just one day after the killing of one of the most prominent leaders of the Palestinian revolution, Abdel Qader al-Husseini, the Zionist militias “Irgun” and “Stern” surrounded the village and carried out one of the largest and most well-known massacres, as part of acts of killing and ethnic cleansing against the Palestinian people. This crime marked a bloody chapter in history and paved the way for the establishment of the Zionist entity on the land of Palestine.

Israel dropped bombs on this child’s home in Beirut. He was just pulled from under the rubble alive. His parents are nowhere to be found. This is what Israel’s bombs do. This is who they target.

Look at that. The attack you see in front of you targeted a funeral in a cemetery. All that fire power to kill Lebanese mourners in a funeral. Israel is demonic beyond comprehension
