On this day in 1899 the New York newsboys successfully negotiated an end to their ~month-long strike. NEWSIES (as silly as it is!) is the film that taught me about labor strikes, scabbing, and how money will fold when held to account.* So this is for the Newsies.

@JenRubin10 I was just thinking about how just a few years ago we had the Bradley Cooper Leonard Bernstein movie in development and the Jake Gyllenhaal Leonard Bernstein movie in development. The Cooper one won out, so we’ll see if both of these move forward!
