The content goal at the Future of Education Technology Conference was to showcase the infinite possibilities and unlimited creativity of students when they are empowered with technology skills— from student produced night time drone shows, class projects in the VR Classroom created in the metaverse to student elementary voices on a keynote, high school students teaching AI literacy and sharing internship opportunities — all to highlight how student futures are enhanced with #edtech! The most beautiful thing in this world is to build something impactful and meaningful for people you care deeply about, that is @fetc for me! Creating a space for administrators and educators to learn in a joyful ecosystem full of creative possibilities & engaging and relevant opportunities is the goal of Future of Education Technology Conference ! This year my focus was empowering all voices and showcasing the incredible work from around the country so it can be scaled to districts & schools with fidelity and #FETC is seen as a launch pad for ideas and technology integration when attendees return to their districts inspired and informed with the support of a connected community! Thank you to our amazing team from marketing, sales, operations, tech team, DA Leadership Institute and District Administration magazine who build an amazing experience that impacts K12 education nationwide! 🧡🔥🧡 Grateful to our 2026 FETC Team: Amanda Holsclaw Amy Dujon Angela Card Barbara Edwards, CMP, SEPC Bianca Maldonado Caliann Mitoulis Christina Arzapalo Diane Eakin Donnie Whitten, Ed.D. AI isn’t replacing literacy… it’s redefining it. I recently had the opportunity to share a message with the @NCCE_EdTech (Northwest Council for Computer Education) I believe every educator, leader, and innovator needs to hear: 👉 AI is empowering the literacy skills of tomorrow’s workforce. We are no longer preparing students just to read, write, and compute. We are preparing them to: 👉 Think critically alongside AI 👉 Communicate with both humans (and machines) 👉 Evaluate information in an AI-generated world 👉 Create and produce content, not just consume 👉 Adapt to constantly evolve as learners #AI literacy is quickly becoming a foundational skill set—as essential as traditional literacy, but far more dynamic. What excites me most isn’t the technology itself…It’s the human opportunity. When we intentionally integrate AI: 👉 Teachers gain time back for deeper relationships 👉 Students engage in more authentic, real-world learning 👉 Leaders can design systems that are both innovative and human-centered The future of literacy is not about tools, it is about skills and relationships. It’s about empowerment, agency, and preparing learners to thrive in a world that is constantly evolving. 💡 The question isn’t if AI belongs in education. It’s how we lead with purpose, ethics, and vision. Learn more on Friday, March 27 as we support the National AI Literacy Day to Learn How AI is Shaping Our World! Link in comments. Thank you for the opportunity to discuss with our education friends across the country Tammy Brecht Dunbar, M.Ed., STEM Shannon Davenport, Bobby Myers, Kiersten Kerr, Mike Agostinelli, Ed.S., Maria Turner! #AIinEducation #FutureOfWork #AILiteracy #EdTech #Leadership #Innovation #FETC #K12 #HigherEd #FutureReady #edleaders Future of Education @fetc Technology Conference District Administration @DA_magazine youtube.com/watch?v=-Zb_qe…

The computational power in your iPhone is >100 million times more powerful than the computers that landed Apollo 11 on the Moon. And yet, most people use it primarily to argue with strangers on the internet. The future's already here—we just need to deploy it better.

This article in @DA_magazine highlights our session at the @AASAHQ The School Superintendents Association National Conference on Education #NCE 2026 in Nashville, I hosted a session titled “From Trust to Transformation: Unlocking the Power of Community to Build Innovative Ecosystems.” The conversation with dynamic district leaders @dsusd_innovate Kelly May-Vollmar, Ed. D. @AlanaWinnick Alana Winnick and Jeff Feucht, Ed.D. reinforced a powerful truth: 👉Innovation is a relationship strategy before it is a technology strategy. Most school districts are asking the wrong question about innovation. Not “What technology should we buy?” ✅ But rather: “How do we build the trust that allows innovation to succeed?” At the @AASAHQ , The School Superintendents Association National Conference on Education #NCE 2026 in Nashville, I hosted a session titled “From Trust to Transformation: Unlocking the Power of Community to Build Innovative Ecosystems.” The conversation with dynamic district leaders @dsusd_innovate Kelly May-Vollmar, Ed. D., @AlanaWinnick , and @JeffFeucht , Ed.D. reinforced a powerful truth: 👉Innovation is a relationship strategy before it is a technology strategy. Across districts of very different sizes and communities, we heard inspiring examples of what happens when leaders invite families, students, and community partners into the design process building family #AI literacy programs, student-led tech events, and community learning spaces that connect innovation to real life. Across districts, these leaders shared how community trust becomes the engine of innovation: • In California, large-district strategies are helping communities embrace AI, design thinking, and future-ready learning. • In New York, student-led tech events and partnerships with local cultural organizations are turning schools into community innovation hubs. • In Illinois, more than 80 students, parents, educators, and community members co-created a Portrait of a Graduate, aligning mission, vision, and strategy around shared values. One theme echoed throughout the conversation: When communities help design innovation, resistance turns into ownership. Families become partners. Students become leaders. Schools become ecosystems for lifelong learning. The takeaways were simple but profound: ✅ Trust turns skepticism into participation ✅ Participation turns ideas into momentum ✅ Momentum turns programs into ecosystems And in a time of rapid AI-driven change, the districts that will thrive are not the ones with the most technology—they are the ones with the strongest relationships around every student. These leaders are asking: “How do we design the future of learning with our community?” Our closing reflection captured the heart of the session: ✅ Families are not stakeholders — they are partners. ✅ Innovation scales when trust is intentional. ✅ The future of education is built together. Grateful to learn alongside so many visionary #superintendents and district leaders pushing this work forward by proving that community is the most powerful infrastructure a district can build. #AASA #EdLeadership #FutureReady #AIinEducation #AIinEDU #CommunityPartnerships #K12Innovation #edleaders #NCE @fetc
