Bedridden days make for great writing days. My attention has been on my book baby’s edit and query letter, but I have short stories whose due dates are rapidly approaching. It can be hard to focus through flare ups like these but hopefully the words will be with me. 🤞🪶🤞

Morning! Just waiting on the coffeemaker to finish. Still working hard at finalizing "Sage's Bluff". I've gotten so much wonderful and useful feedback from my beta readers and editor. I can't wait to share this book with all of you!

@LouDPhillips Tony Hillerman's books were a common item stocked in the bookstore I worked at in Carlsbad, New Mexico.

No. It’s based on a series of mystery novels by Tony Hillerman featuring the investigations of Jim Chee and Joe Leaphorn. Great books! Interestingly, I played Jim Chee in the feature film The Dark Wind in the early 90s. Had the honor of meeting Tony and working with Redford.

@RemilekunM31846 Mystery. I describe my series as "cozy meets traditional mystery". None of the gore, graphic violence, or spice. A solid mystery with a traditional investigator (private investigator). There's a splash of supernatural: my PI is psychic, and she doesn't believe in psychics. :)

@Jenni_Stand I’m pretty sure there are needle toothed demons gnawing on my spinal cord but otherwise I am good. 😅 I only lost some sensation to the right foot so far and that’s easing up if I don’t push it. You’re very kind to ask. 💜 I appreciate you.

Not gonna lie… I’m taking shots to ease the pain. The inflammation in my lumbar spine has gotten so bad today that I’m bent in half and waddling. Arthritis layered with fibromyalgia in my early 30s is not how I envisioned my life playing out. I’m lucky to have my hubby who took over making dinner. Very lucky. Hopefully this flare up is short and I can return to my regular programming soon. 🤞🤞 On the bright side, the shots are whiskey and my stance to ease the pain is bowlegged as if I’m about to “stick em up” like in an old western, so that’s been a great chuckle. Always laugh when you can, friends. 💜 There will be days when you can’t. Sometimes many days.
