@DrLindaDykes It’s been a lifesaver for my Dad who has AL amyloidosis and was living with a systolic BP of around 70. Has massively improved his quality of life for the last 18 months but took a very long time for anyone to agree to prescribe.

Dr Linda Dykes has moved to Bluesky
Suddenly started noticing patients on midodrine for postural hypotension: why’s this drug popped back up again? Wasn’t it taken off the market in USA as there wasn’t an evidence it worked? Has something changed? (Or do I need to look into what local CPD events have been on !)

@BetsiCadwaladr Very grateful to Sister Hocking and her amazing team for the care and treatment I received at the IV suite in Llandudno today. A real example of an outstanding service. #thankyou

@ThomasJPaddock @HarryTtweets After experiencing both “sides of the coin” what is clear to me is that a multi-professional, proactive and can-do approach which car fully considers (but doesn’t shy away from) risk is the most important factor in achieving this 3/3

@ThomasJPaddock @HarryTtweets This is a brilliant thread. As an OT working in hospital-based acute frailty I met Mr Smith every day. I now work with an amazing hospital at home team and we have a brilliant relationship with the ambulance service 1/1

@ThomasJPaddock @HarryTtweets Because of how we work, we can safely avoid these unnecessary admissions and do so every day. As others have said, we really can’t underestimate advanced care planning / EHCPs and understanding what matters most to the patient. 2/3

@SaveOurVascula2 @Eluned_Morgan I was in the department at this time. It was horrendous and even as someone who has worked under similar conditions I was horrified by some of the things I witnessed. It’s so sad.

Did you see this @Eluned_Morgan ? Relative of 76 year old describes Third World carnage in A&E as others collapse and cry in pain. You told us in August that Betsi was " turning a corner" but this story is from last week ! Glan Clwyd , yet again !

@neil_mccormick A lazy and biased review which is way off the mark….. a little research would have gone a long way here.

Has Britain mysteriously succumbed to the charms of country music? The young audience for @MorganWallen at London’s O2 Arena looked like they had turned out for a barn dance in cowboy boots, check shirts and trucker caps worn backwards. 20,000 of them. telegraph.co.uk/music/concerts…

Am I alone in thinking it is wrong for consultants to strike? Nurses, paramedics, junior doctors, yes, they are just ‘workers’ but consultants are senior leaders, just like senior managers. They demean themselves by striking.
