@TRHLofficial My daughter loved Vandy until our tour. Went through the DEI building but not the library. Love that she was willing to give up her longtime favorite over that bs.
Took my daughters on a college tour. The tour guide started talking about the “male and female identifying communal bathrooms” and MJ goes, “nope I’m not comfortable with any of that.” and we left early.
Some of these colleges make things so easy.
𝕏 is the #1 news app in the UK.
This is exactly why the BBC, The Telegraph and other UK legacy media keep pushing negative fake attacks on Elon Musk.
They are getting destroyed in the rankings. The British public has rejected them.
Legacy media is finished. They are lashing out in pure panic because they lost control.
𝕏 is winning because it gave people what they actually wanted - truth.
went to a wedding this weekend
heard the hand of chatgpt in the wedding vows
cringed in multiple dimensions as i realized this will be every wedding for the rest of time
Government schools spend $21,456 per child per year.
Imagine if that money went directly to families instead.
A teacher could set up a microschool with just 14 students and pull in $300,384 a year.
The Trump Administration is ending the era of runaway tuition hikes fueled by unchecked borrowing access.
Schools had no incentive to control costs and students, families, and taxpayers got stuck with the bill.
We put a stop to it.
@whitecarz@PeterMcCormack I think he will win because he seems like a decent guy and people will want to give him and chance. And the reform candidate will not be known. Then leadership, then PM, then likely unsuccessful, then election and Reform
@PeterMcCormack IMO he’ll likely be exposed. I can see Burnham running a disappointing campaign of vibes without substance populated by ‘undesirable’ cabinet level support negating his insurgent credentials.
I doubt he’ll win this.
Let me get this straight, Andy Burnham’s great achievement is £2 bus fares at a cost of £135m to the public and £200m a year ongoing.
LMAO, he is going to be a disaster.
@skedeschi I have a friend whose family owned very valuable properties before ww2 in Austria, those properties were seized and never returned. It is terrible, but as you say, it was war. They remember it and it is unfair but they have made new lives.
23/ My own family were displaced after being ethnically cleansed from somewhere they'd been peacefully living for thousands of years. Everything they owned was taken. Was it fair? No. But like everyone else, 80 years later we got over it. It's no longer part of our lives.
I'm a middle eastern historian. My own family were made refugees. And this is my honest view of the Nakba (“catastrophe”) - the displacement of around 700,000 Palestinian Arabs during the 1947–49 war surrounding the creation of Israel.
A thread. 🧵
@DanielHewittITV@AndyBurnhamGM Good but doesn’t touch on the immigration and welfare topics that has attracted people to Reform - I recall he disagreed with the 20 year wait on indefinite leave to remain, but I don’t think that is the real issue anyway - what are his ideas?
What is @AndyBurnhamGM thinking? What’s his plan?
In his only sit down TV interview, the Mayor of Greater Manchester speaks to me about his bid to return to Westminster.

@BurnessSteve@James_J_Marlow I know families at both Catholic and Jewish faith schools and they are lovely and have non Catholic and non Jewish friends. Where I would agree with you is if there are instances of faith schools that teach fundamentalist/ religious zealotry. Moderation in all things !
@JenniferA33644@James_J_Marlow Being "Common" doesn't make them integrated.
Religious Ideological Indoctrination of Children in Schools is a fundamental problem for Society as it Deliberately sows the seeds of division in the young.
These kids will remember this for the rest of their lives. Meeting the King and Royalty is one of the most highest honours in Judaism. So when he visits the community, more than 1500 Orthodox Jews come out onto the streets to greet him and honour him.
This is called integration into British society.
@BurnessSteve@James_J_Marlow Faith schools are common - there are catholic schools near where I live - same same. They all look like good cute kids to me !
It's like clockwork.
The 10Y Note Yield is now above 4.50% for the first time since June 2025.
This is the same level that resulted in President Trump's "90-day tariff pause" in April 2025.
Meanwhile, rate HIKES are now the base case for the Fed's expected next move.
As a result, average rate on 30Y mortgage in the US is nearing 7% and inflation is at a fresh 3-year high.
Seemingly overnight, "higher for longer" interest rate policy is back.
How long can this last?
Impossible to act on this as a central bank btw
If they hike and the Hormuz crisis is solved, they look like idiots
If they remain neutral or even cut and the crisis drags on, they look like idiots
🚨 NOW: Sec. Marco Rubio just WALKED OUT to fill in as Press Secretary for Karoline Leavitt at the White House, while she's out on maternity leave
The comedic way he opened the door 😭
Marco wears many hats, he can do anything — that's why we love him! 🤣
"I'll be filling in for Karoline today, obviously!"
Speaking late yesterday, Trump said “maybe we’re better off not making a deal at all” with Iran, without elaborating.
“We can’t let this thing go on, you know, it’s going on too long,” he said
