Why haven't we heard from the female athletes who will be the likely stars of the LA Games in 2028?
We've heard from Brianna Turner, WNBA player, and a veteran headed towards the end of her career. She says men in women's sports is fine. What's the big deal? She says that she has played against plenty of "trans women" and "athletes with intersex variations." And now the IOC is policing who belongs.
Megan Rapinoe has also spoken out. A lot. The former soccer star and Olympic gold medalist says that the IOC is attempting to "whittle it down" to "a certain kind of woman" who can compete.
Yes. That's correct. That certain kind of woman is an actual woman. The others "kinds" are men and can compete in men's.
Beyond Turner and Rapinoe it's pretty much been crickets. The currently competing athletes (other than Turner), those likely to qualify for the Olympics, have said nothing.
You know why?
They support the IOC rules.
They don't want to compete against men.
But they don't want to lose any endorsements either.
If they were against the new rule, we'd know.

@AlexMil92241944 It's true. I think the days of any brand being so dominant are over.

@JenniferSey Competition in the clothing space has grown exponentially. Every celebrity now can just easily start a clothing brand. New athleisure brands coming up all the time.

People like to talk about how Nike has taken a nose dive, and it has. The stock is down 68% in last 5 years.
But look at VF Corp - owners of North Face, Vans and Timberland.
Stock was ~$84 5 yrs ago. It's about $18 now, down 78%.
Vans has collapsed.
The Supreme acquisition was a disaster -- they overpaid and Supreme was always going to be a flash in the pan.
High debt load overall.
The North Face got caught up in being fashionable for a while, and is now fighting to get back to its performance roots.
It's not all "go woke go broke" but that hasn't helped either. Because it puts a brand out of touch with a broad customer base.
Once great American apparel companies are losing their way.

@JenniferSey Portland person here - word around town is that Nike has lost their way and needs a clear vision again.

No one would know her. And the world would be better off.
I made it through her memoir a few years ago.
She's full of woke, self-heroicizing, and self-excusing stories of infidelity and victimhood, with overconfident, privileged, and ignorant opinions on economics, equality, family, society, justice, fairness, and integrity.
You make a great point with your message. But it pains me to see her receive any airtime, and unless she's following the money or others leading social change, I can't imagine her changing her caustic views.
The good news: many people are again starting to acknowledge the obvious differences between men and women and appreciate both for their respective strengths in different areas of life. As more people speak up for obvious biological facts supporting positive policies, more people will wake up and protect women in sports, bathrooms, and mothering roles.
English

I'd like to ask her why she thinks women's sports exist in the first place.

She did it AGAIN!! @Jennifersey just put together another video that has me in tears.
Wait for it.
Sound on.
They block these videos on other platforms bc they don’t want you seeing them. But you can see them here!!

@NotMaryAnnObv I agree. And the NCAA accepts a birth certificate as proof of sex. Those can be changed in 44 states.
English

@JenniferSey He probably has. The school who offers him a scholarship will probably proceed just assuming nobody will stop them, because it feels like that’s the case, at least for high school athletes. There’s been a lot of promises but I continue to see these stories.
English

@JenniferSey Does he think that clown make up, you can’t tell he’s a boy? Lol

@mysteriouskat @P_Kallioniemi @dom_lucre @X @Safety @nikitabier Outrageously high. I find it hard to believe anyone pays that!!

Dom Lucre (@dom_lucre) is openly selling paid comments ($2,500+), retweets ($4,989 each) and quote tweets ($6,600 each) on his website. This is blatant platform manipulation and violates X’s Authenticity and Engagement Spam rules.

Got a call this week.
It was @PBS
"We want to let you know that the episode you were in of Breaking the Deadlock has been nominated for an Emmy."
Everyone told me not to do it. "It's too risky" they said.
The list of reasons not to:
- It was PBS
- They could edit to make me appear stupid, uninformed etc.
- It could damage M4L
- Media has not ever given me/M4L a fair shot
- I did not know the topic or the names of the others that would appear (this alone felt like a trap)
- It was recorded the same day as Charlie Kirk's public memorial and I really wanted to attend
- A million more reasons
I chose to go anyway. I was almost alone. My PR guy got stuck with travel delays, so I had to make the decision again to walk in alone, prep alone, stand there alone, second guessing my decision.
Last minute, I called our @Moms4Liberty Nassau County, NY chapter chair. She arranged rides for her children, rearranged her entire day and met me at the entrance.
It was an incredible experience.
Take away?
Take risks! Push past fear! It's worth it!
