I don't care if you loved THE ODYSSEY or hated it. Your opinion is perfectly valid just as long as you judge the film on its own merits. But if you're mad about a Black Helen of Troy or a trans actor in the cast, you're fighting a losing battle in a culture war where only one side bothered to show up. The rest us just shrug and worry about real things that are actually hurting our country. If you can't enjoy any movie unless the cast is exclusively White and cis-het, you're gonna have a hard time finding anything new to watch. As far as I can tell the only music you have left other than country is Kid Rock, the artist formerly known as Kanye, and Ted Nugent. Even things like the NFL – the most all-American sport God ever invented – are now off-limits because they are suddenly too "woke" for you. You're not winning because the rest of us aren't playing that game. All you're doing is making your world – and your own teeny-tiny little mind – ever smaller with each passing day. If someone made a movie set in Africa and based on ancient African folklore, and then populated the cast with white people and other random races and ethnicities that have nothing to do with Africa, everyone would say that the casting is ridiculous and distracting at best (and I would agree). Yet the same thing is done in the reverse to a foundational text of western civilization and even conservatives line up to defend it. It’s pathetic, honestly.
