@jyarow @daveweigel I would gladly pay $100/month to be able to read every news article in America. Or spread that fee across 6-7 providers, like I do with streaming services. $30 every time I need something from a local paper in Wyoming? Not workable.

@jyarow @daveweigel The problem is that market fragmentation makes the system unworkable for power consumers. If you had to shop at 50 different grocery stores to fill your order, and each charged an entrance fee, then yes, you might steal a bottle of Gatorade from time to time.

Why do people feel like they shouldn't have to pay for news that the company is charging for? Do you walk into a store, steal a Gatorade and say, 'I think Gatorade should be free. If they wanted me to pay they would have it in a better, more locked up fridge.'

In order to be the “Joe Rogan of the left,” you’d need a streamer/podcaster who: -isn’t known for politics and doesn’t mainly talk about politics, drawing in apolitical types/normies -actually endorses Democratic candidates when it comes down to it like Rogan does for the GOP
